I've tried just repeating things in my head but it's just as bad because I end up concentrating so hard on repeating what's been said, that I can't listen to what else is being said, or I forget to. It's a bit like listening to 4 conversations at once. You can either focus on one, but risk missing o...

All through my life I've struggled with understanding instructions or complex information. I remember being 7, just started primary school and our teacher split the class into 4 teams. I remember not knowing which team I was in even though everyone else did. She sat us all down one morning called ou...

Yes, I get very easily annoyed by trivial questions, especially ones with obvious answers such as someone asking "Is it raining?" upon seeing you walk through door soaking wet or someone asking what you're doing when you're clearly reading a book.

Very annoying.

Yes, but I'm not really listening to the music when I'm reading - my mind blocks it out.

I'd say that it was more common in Aspies to not have posters on their wall. I don't, and never did have posters up on my wall. For me, I think it's the whole "avoids eye contact" thing because whenever I tried to put posters on my wall up of people to fit in, I always felt so uncomfortable as thoug...

If you read between the lines and analyze his source you'll find that he isn't just questioning AS, he is literally questioning EVERY DIAGNOSIS IN THE DSM. He is basically saying that none of these disorders exist, and are merely a social construct. I'm sorry but what he is arguing is absolutely de...

his approach makes him a troll, in "my book". could be insensitivity tho. his title can easily translate to "YOUR ALL A BUNCHA FAKERS. GET A LIFE." <---pure trolling. I agree that the title makes him appear like a troll, which I did mention in my post, but I honestly don't think he is. None of this...

is anyone else in favour of locking this thread? Why? Because it brings up a question that goes against the generally accepted view of AS on this site? I've noticed several times on this site that there is a generally accepted view of AS and when ever someone tries to question that view, they're mo...

I've been trying to go back to college yet again, but I have to sit a level 2 maths exam and pass it to get in. I failed it last time, so I took a maths computer class and only just passed on my second try with a result of 23 out of 40, and the pass mark being 21. However, I learnt that the level 2 ...

You Are 70% Boyish and 30% Girlish You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch. Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes. You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them. You're just you. You don't try to be what people ex...

I have problems with wet clothing or being wet. Can't stand my hair being wet or dripping on my back. I hate getting baths and showers for this reason, but of course, I have to, so I tolerate it but it's such a horrible feeling. When I was younger, every time I got out the bath, instead of drying my...

I've adopted a habit of one of my former classmates and wave at someone happily if it is obvious that someone is staring at me (not the plant behind me, not my book, etc.) and it is excessive. It tends to make the person feel uncomfortable. You could try it, it's fun. Haha, that sounds like such a ...
