Where do you live now? It depends largely how you plan to meet and interact with people. Although it's easier to meet people in a bigger place it's also harder to be close to them. I'm in Ithaca, NY right now. I don't really have a social life at all so I'm pretty eager to go anywhere else. I'm thi...

Hi, I'm currently a senior undergrad at a college in a fairly rural area. I got in to my university for grad school, but feel I'd likely be better off going to a school in a larger city. I also got into a grad school in Philadelphia and another in Manhattan. How do Aspies fair in these cities? I'm h...

You are 29% neurotypical!

You aren't that neurotypical. Social skills aren't your strong suit and you tend to have more skill in other areas, however, you may still enjoy socializing. It is likely that you are autistic.

Does anyone else just not understand how to react to small talk from strangers sometimes? Today I was buying a new laptop and when I got to the counter I stopped for a moment to transfer the neccessary funds into my checking account using my iPhone. A checkout girl walks up to me and asks if I'm rea...

Hey, how successful has medication been for you guys? I'm not an anything right now, but I'm meeting with a psychiatrist soon, and I'm thinking about asking about medications for treating my rather extreme social anxiety. I used to take clonazepam as a preteen, but it caused massive weight gain. I d...

That was a heck of a card outside of the Machida fight. I really though Carmouche was going to pull it out for a second there. I'm not sure if any of you guys saw the Bermudez fight, but it was one of the best fights I've seen in a while Pondering- yah, martial arts training can be expensive. That's...

Thanks everyone. My degree will be in Urban Planning. I'm still waiting to hear back from a few schools so I'm not completely sure Penn is where I'll wind up going, but it feels great to get an acceptance. And BTDT, that museum looks really cool! I'm actually taking an archaeology course right now s...

Yah, Horwich is a very eccentric guy. Apparently he was cut from The Ultimate Fighter for not being social enough, which would be consistent with someone who had autism. I've also heard people suggest Nick Diaz may have autism. I don't know about that, but he certainly displays some characteristics ...

When I was probably around 14 or so, I stumbled upon the AQ test and decided to give it a try. I scored a 23. Now, 8 years later I decided to take the test for a second time... I scored a 38. How is this possible? I feel like my social skills are regressing. Has anyone else experienced something lik...

It's cool to know that there're some fellow aspies into MMA. It doesn't really strike me as a typical aspie interest. Yah, I think it'd be cool if Liz won, but I think Rousey winning is better for the sport. I think Women's MMA needs a dominant and polarizing personality for it to really become popu...

Hi, I got involved with high school wrestling when I was 14 and it was the best thing I ever did. It became my special interest and gave me confidence and drive that I've never had before or since. Anyone else here participate in or just watch amateur wrestling or mixed martial arts (UFC)

I work as an Archival assistant at my university library. Best job I've ever had. Simple, slow paced, routine work, and I don't have to talk to anyone besides my supervisor.
