It might be a little petty, but I find myself feeling a little resentful of the younger generation getting a dx. They sometimes get accommodations, and at least they know why they're different. for some reason I feel jealous. you know? I think it would have been nice. Dx now at my age is very diffi...

I know some people believe that AS gets "better" as you get older, and in some ways that's true for me because my symptoms are not as noticeable as they were when I was younger. But if I look past the symptoms at the way I actually feel, I've gotten worse. Because as I get older I increasingly unde...

I don't know how to make this system display it, but the Buddhist wheel is Unicode = U+F05D UTF-8 = EF 81 9D It would be "& #61533;" (without the space), but I think that's not a standard Unicode character and that's why it doesn't work here. It's only the wheel in Wingings: http://www.fileform...

I don't know whether this clears things up or not but it's all I'm willing to say right now. M revelation came not from some sense of wanting a piece of paper but from wishing all these years that there was a reason for how I am. It's a horrible, horrible, horrible way to live. "You're just crazy a...

Yes selling you some ASD. Great. They aren't selling ASD; they are selling their time and knowledge. Yes, they do. But just the situation that youll have to pay for an ASD diagnosis is bad. Lets hope that in future youll be able to get this test very easily and for free. I think whenever you realis...

Hei, exactly the same thing for me. I like meeting people. Though the right ones. I do have problems with things like irony, non verbal clues, sometimes sarcasm, other not really literal stuff, literally interpretation. Such things. And, sad but true, women or girls. Not that I have difficulties to ...

Sometimes it's best to go to the bottom of a Wikipedia page and check the references for unbroken links first -- the higher the percentage, the more I trust the article. Then I check to see if the available links actually support the page; if they do, then I trust it even more. Strange how philosop...

If you're on spectrum then you dont necessary have a disorder or how it is supposed to be understood? Well, though it has many forms and differences, autism IS a disorder, even in its mildest forms. Even AS, that is the mildest form on the spectrum causes in the 90% of the people who have it proble...

making it more likely to be wrong than right. Well I would say making it more likely to be wrong. But not that most of is wrong. It is quite a good starting point. And if youll have some citations there that you can follow, that helps me quite often a lot, also some links to other articles. So it d...

Wikipedia is open to the public to edit and newspapers/magazines/media is often used as a source, making it more likely to be wrong than right. If you want a true definition, you are going to have to go to something that doesn't allow itself to be changed by anybody who thinks they are smarter than...

only talking about disorders in the beginning.

This is so wrong!

It is just totally against the idea of the word spectrum.
If you're on spectrum then you dont necessary have a disorder or how it is supposed to be understood?

I mean the spectrum is not sharply edged at the bottom

Hi, yeah, well. Im with my spectrum stuff pretty at the boundary. Like weird as you said. ASD has of course its criteria. But it doesnt really mean that AS is without troubles. Now, I dont know do I actually qualify for the disorder or not. But the last year my life has been quite much upside down. ...
