I think most psychologists think that nvld is on the spectrum but it's not officially recognized by the powers that be. Any sources? This isn't a challenge. I'm looking for info...

So what you're saying is they magically develop the condition post diagnoses and are wrong up until the professional diagnoses even if their self diagnoses is correct? No. This is what I am saying: There is literally no way to determine if a self-diagnosis is "correct" in comparison with ...

Hi. I was diagnosed with ASD recently after suspecting it for a long time. I have always been anxious and have always self-medicated with alcohol but I have always hoped it would some day be cured. Now I am starting to think that the anxiety is here to stay. Learning about AS and anxiety, well, it ...

I drop in to see WP, see this thread, and I also mis-read it. Glad you are all right tall-P. Oliver is such a good writer, and the new book has a picture of him as a young guy on his motorcycle showing an obvious passionate and powerful person. • I just realized that your writing style is a l...

I was walking down the sidewalk the other night with my son, and he kept saying, "Stop walking into me!" Darn! I STILL do this! I have been getting complaints from people about this ever since, well, ever. I don't know why I can't just walk in a straight line but instead always gravitate ...

I do not like sharing food and I won't do it once it is on my plate. I also detest it when someone wants me to eat some of their food. Blech. Just, No. Sometimes - I think it is related to this - by the time I am done cooking a meal for myslef and others, I have no interest in eating it, even though...

steelmaiden, to answer, I'd list the same things that you did. I'm fine with a small amount of texting if there is a reason. Also, I like communicating via email when it is with a friend. I'm fine with strangers, such as at a check-out for a few minutes. Chatting for the point of chatting, (what IS ...

OP, Just wanted to basically agree/repeat what you said, as well as what B19 said, and to add that I find it helps my mind's well-being to read outloud to people. Otherwise, to clarify: I do not talk to people, am fairly isolated (purposely ) in real life and have been for quite a while. But I have ...

For many, many years, now, I have thought there should be a study done, on the age of tired-ness. I can remember being 18 and feeling like I should've been at least 40, because I was so tired of fighting my ASD symptoms, all-the-time; and thinking, at any moment, that I was going to run-out of stea...
