I am a girl and have never had any luck with guys. I'm 21 and have been on one date. Guys never approach me or pay attention to me. I always assumed I was just really ugly, but my best friend swears I'm not ugly, she says I'm attractive (she's my best friend and a total sweetheart so I'm not sure if...

My entire appearance? Especially my nose, which is crooked and has a bump. My best friend swears I'm not ugly, just unapproachable. My social awkwardness is probably unattractive. Being smart is probably a turn-off to guys who like to be smarter than the girls they date. Being blunt. Being shy and n...

I am an opinionated woman. I've had no success with guys whatsoever, though I think being opinionated is one of many, many contributing factors. I think that as usual, the defining factor is appearance. If the woman is attractive, guys will be happy that she's opinionated and intelligent, but being ...

Not quite sure if this is the right place to post this, except I'm a woman and it is sort of an appearance/dating-related thing. I broke my nose at some point, not quite sure how, but it's very crooked and has a large bump in it, very noticeable in profile. I've been told I have a deviated septum th...

I find it extremely sexy when a guy is very intelligent and passionate about a particular topic. Even if I don't understand the topic myself, I enjoy watching the way his face lights up when he talks about it (as long as he's willing to explain it to me--I also like learning new things). I also like...

Definitely 1. Maybe 4, but I'm not sure if I'm deceiving myself--like, "Oh, it's just because I'm shy, not because I'm irredeemably ugly." My best friend tells me it's 4, but she'd be waaay too polite to tell me if it was 1.

I've been on one date in my entire life. So, it's basically impossible for me. Guys never even talk to me. Like, literally never (unless we're in class and they want to copy my work :/ )

I have a fair amount of redness in my face (not sure if it's rosacea), and I use MAC BB Cream--a bit pricy, but it does a very good job of evening out my skin while still looking natural. Also MAC foundation powder. I went to the MAC counter at Macy's and got them to choose the color for me.

I never post on Facebook because no one ever comments on my posts. I also avoid it because it's depressing to see other people who have a zillion friends constantly posting on their wall about how they miss them, they're awesome, they look gorgeous in this photo, they had so much fun together, etc. ...

I'm a girl, and I'm guilty of this reaction sometimes. I was out walking one Saturday night, really upset about a lot of things, so I was crying. This guy came up to me and said, "Hey, are you okay?" My mind immediately flashed: "He's thinking, crying girl = easy lay", so I yelled at him and ran awa...

There are a number of very deep scars in a number of places on both legs. I don't think it could be dismissed as "a cat scratched me" or "I scraped my leg" or something. That excuse has worked when people have only seen one set, but I can't think of something that would explain all of them, they cov...

I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but I used to cut myself. I haven't done so in like 9 months and haven't really felt the urge, but the scars remain, on my thighs--they are quite deep, and scar cream has faded them a bit but hasn't reduced the size. Is it okay to wear shorts? The...

I myself am afraid that I'm very emotionally needy. I want to help someone who's in a similar situation, but it also makes me uncomfortable because a) strong emotions in general make me feel uncomfortable and b) I don't know how to deal with them. I feel bad because I know I'm not the best person (o...

One of those reasons is that I don't want to pass my aspergers, or a more severe form of autism, on to a next generation. I don't think that autism is so terrible that no one should be born with it but it definitely makes life more complicated and difficult. Another reason is that I am not complete...

I don't want to go into detail about this, but I lost a family member and a close friend to depression. Since then, as a sociologist, I've done some reading about what happens to get people into these isolated places where either they can't feel help from others or people just don't want to help th...

I suffer from insomnia: early morning awakenings starting at around 4 am and I wake up every hour until 8am when I finally get up. The exact same thing happens to me! I would wake up every hour, almost exactly on the hour, sometimes the entire night, or most of the night. Either that or I simply co...
