I love classical music and some great composers have done film music -- Shostakovich, Copland, Prokofiev. Recently, I've become a big fan of Dario Marianelli. He did the music for Jane Eyre and Atonement. His music is understated, haunting, beautiful.

I like reading different perspectives and hearing other people's stories. I never thought I would find so many with similar challenges and experiences as myself in one place. People are generally nice and it's well moderated. It's a very active site, which I like. If people would not post for days, ...

I will never get married. First, I would need to sustain a relationship to get to the marriage stage. Then I would need to do the couples married thing everyday. It would take a really understanding person to deal with me. I have also found it more difficult to get to the married stage as I get olde...

I would say both too. I've had people dislike me when they see I was not going to mimic them or play their game. It has descended into outright hostility over time. They see my refusal to mimic their social cues as some form of disrespect. If I'm unhappy and not being self aware, negative language a...

Next time you are at the dentist, have them check you out for TMJ. It could be your jaw putting pressure on your ear.

My tinnitus is making me miserable and I lost a friend because of my misery. The realization this person no longer wants any part of my distress then triggered more distress and anxiety, and I am out of lorazepam to calm me down.

I object to the idea of black and white thinking and absolutes are typical for an aspie. If he explodes over something trivial (over sensitive) and thinks in absolutes, then it could be more borderline personality disorder than AS. Go to a professional, especially since you haven't even fully establ...

Yes, strangers starting a conversation is disconcerting. I often have the same reaction as you. I used to react to people who were not even talking to me (embarrassing). Now I do the opposite, which is try to act as if no one is talking to me (works better). A couple of weeks ago my strategy was put...

My opinion of millinials was formed on a temp job I took for extra money. The agency said the project was way behind schedule and they needed help finishing it. When I got there, it was all recent grads doing nothing. Worse, I soon discovered it was a kiddie park on some days. One guy was the assist...

From now on I will look at your randomly placed pieces of propaganda as a personal attack on me. Yet another hysterical, paranoid rant by a "rational" atheist on wrong planet. There is another hysterical thread bitching about how science was being "attacked" by religion and was obviously the "enemy...

I moved out at 26 and it was difficult. I was leaving my aspie mom by herself. We both had anxiety about being two aspies living on our own, but it was necessary for my self-esteem and contentment. I still love the peace and quiet and the privacy. I injured myself last year due to a meltdown which c...

I had a terrible time when I was working during the day. People would mess with me all the time. I would wear headphones and listen to music to deal with the stress. That only caused people to think I'm really weird and mess with me more. The solution? I work a graveyard shift. I only have to deal w...

Stay where you are. I did exactly the same thing you are thinking of doing (quit because the boss I loved quit) only to find a job with a horrible boss. The stress of finding work is worse than a job too. No sure bet you will find another job with a good boss. Plus companies have a bias against unem...

I'm catching up. I'm halfway through the second season. If it wasn't for Peter Dinklage, I might have given up on the show. It's pretty brutal and barbaric and merciless. I got to the episode when the little sadistic King has one woman beat another...then I stopped and asked if this was "entertainme...

Peter Dinklage or Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Game of Thrones had one Bond villain on the show (Sean Bean) -- why not another?
