I believe it boils down to an individual's character and how well it was formed. Aspergers may help a person be able to stand alone to do the right thing when others are fearful . . . or it may help an individual commit atrocities without regard to anyone or anything. Even a logical person can start...

Michael Gilbert's book How to Win an Argument made it fun for me. Now I just insist that the other guy prove his point before he starts jumping all over the place. If they make a claim, then say "What's your basis for that?" Gilbert explains all the logical fallacies that you can point out. It's an ...

Going around the perimeter solves the overwhelm problem. You can pick up where you left off for your next 20 min session. I really like the "going around the perimeter" concept, and the 20-minute bits of time on a timer. When I have done the timer thing in the past, what works best for me is to wai...

Are we supposed to take a break between two 20-minute sessions?

Not required, but it may help you stay on track if you allow yourself a break.

I got some good tips over the years from FlyLady.net 1) get three containers (bags, boxes, laundry baskets, etc and label them "Put Away" "Throw Away" and "Give Away) 2) get a kitchen timer and set it for a small amount of time that you can handle in one session (20 min?) 3) Start by the door and wo...

I've read from successful Aspies, that they have made friends through their special interests. Does your special interest have a meetup at a physical location? Conferences? Expos?

It was an awful thing to say, to the point that I cannot repeat it here. And the person I said it to was a parent. Mostly I'm reminded of God's law to respect one's parents. After a lot of emotional processing over the last few days, it boiled down to two feelings: anger at them and guilt in myself...

I can't concentrate on driving while someone is non-stop talking to me or freaking out, so having my parents teach me to drive was out of the question. A professional driver's ed instructor was perfect for me. He knew when to talk and gave me plenty of warning. He was calm bc he had a steering wheel...

Post-abortive women have formed support groups. I'm sure if you google that, you can find psychologists with personal experience in her area. :(

In public school, the kid is still subject to the teacher's political bias and rants. They have no qualms undermining parental authority. And God forbid the kid wears the wrong t-shirt to public school. That's absolutely absurd. If you're a teacher at private school, you're miraculously free of pol...
