Oh man, somehow I screwed up the date. I put the 19th, it is really the 21st. I've corrected it above.

I didn't see a better place to post this. If you are located in the Pikes Peak area and on the spectrum, feel free to come to an adult social group! This is sponsored by the Autism Society of America, Pikes Peak Region. Note that this is not a "social skills" or a "support" group. This is simply a n...

I love this song.

To me "Step into the circle and shake as we do" means that everyday I have to step into the worlds arena and perform, and prove who I am "show what you can do"

I won't say I'm not interested, but I am definitely not the stereotype person on the spectrum that is a Math genius. My math skills are far from flawless, and my talents defintely are more verbal in nature. That said, I use math more than a lot of people in my line of work, which is training loan of...

I'm not sure if everyone is using the same definition of empathy here. It seems about 85% of the population identifies empathy as being able to feel bad because somebody else feels bad. However, it is much broader than that. Empathy is the ability to rcognize feelings and motivations of others throu...

ret*d doesn't really bother me, but when I was growing up, it was still a pretty accepted term.

Related words I do get bothered by. For example, I asked a co-worker to please stop referring to people as "RE-RE". I can't really say why I wasn't bothered by ret*d, but "Re-Re" I really didn't like.

melatonin has been great for me- I credit it for giving me my life back in allowing me to reliably get sleep. One thing- you must take it about 1/2 hour before bed. Don't try taking it if you don't have 8 hours to sleep, because you will wake up worse off, feeling unbelievably tired. Narcotics (nota...

Let us not delude ourselves: Autism and it many derivatives is a disease, an epidemic which we inflict on our future generations by not stamping it out. It causes its sufferers to lack that certain Natural Domination which humans, by right, have over their environments and nature. In fact, it rende...

I don't feel the need for a dating site either, lonermutant, but thats no reason to slam the idea. It's pure brilliance. What do you mean by "pure brilliance"? it's just a pathetic joke. Personally, I only want sex, wich I find grossly pathetic. Ok, I'm trying to be as nice as I can. THERE OPINIONS...

I don't see the need for an Aspie dating site. Most dating sites are hoaxes! Please notice that there are barely any Aspie women who have signed up yet. They don't because they either don't want boyfriends or they have no problems getting an nt boyfriend out there in the real world. Yes, I'm also a...

I believe that social skills are impossible to teach, and I've accepted that I have to stay celibate for the rest of my life. I have almost no debts, I can still collect Action Figures and buy loads of cd's and spend time and money on my bass playing hobby. If I had been nt, I would probably have b...

Well, how about it? I'd like to get to know people that are close(r) to myself, but there does not seem to be a good way to search that way. This would be a help for planning potential get togethers...

Lately, I've been very down. For some reason, I've just been overwhelmed lately by sensory issues. Everything seems too loud, too bright, and just throws me over the edge. I feel my sensory issues are the biggest hurdle I have between myself and the rest of society. You don't get to meet many people...

As usual with the typical mention of so-called "LFA", I am going to link to this site: http://www.gettingthetruthout.org/ And I am going to say, that if you are going to read it, you will have to read the whole thing, to get the point. LFA is a real thing (and I have seen that sight before). If the...
