Not since I was young. The last time I did was when I was in terrible pain and I didn't really expect anything to happen. I was just desperate and out of my mind with pain.

"Sykes believes he found a 100% match with a DNA sample from the jaw of an ancient polar bear that lived tens of thousands of years ago. That doesn’t mean a mythical Bigfoot-like yeti is alive and well. And Sykes in a statement said, "I don't think it means there are ancient polar bears wandering ar...

As a bit of an update, I slept in later than my husband this morning and didn't have nightmares! I'm tentatively attributing it to my new weighted blanket, since even when I don't have nightmares I'm usually edgy if I wake up alone, but today I was totally calm. I'm going to keep using it and I'll c...

In my opinion it is inherently undemocratic. With many peoples' lives dependent on whether or not they get food stamps, social security, etc, this isn't the political process... it's a hostage situation.

What I don't understand is why supporters of homosexuality say that it's genetic instead of a choice. If it was really genetic that would imply that it's something that could be inherited like skin-color & opponents of homosexuality would argue that they homosexuals should not have kids because...

I think animals should have certain rights, but not the same rights that people have. Animals do have some protection from abuse, but it varies wildly by state. There needs to be a federal standard that protects animals from abuse and standard prosecution for animal abusers; mostly people that set a...

If they are determining this on the basis of slightly smaller handprints, how do we know it wasn't just examples of vandalism resulting from rebellious teenagers? This explains one technique used to identify the age of cave paintings: http://www.nbcnews.com/science/new-method-shows-cave-art-older-d...

I might want to foster one day, but not in the near future. Definitely never having kids of my own.

I need more pictures or a video clip to determine which one is a trans woman. I'd probably be able to guess with a 99% accuracy if I saw the women in the pictrue move or talk. A CAIS woman is a woman with male chromosomes, but who is otherwise a woman (i.e. walks, sounds and is like a woman). CAIS ...

This may apply to FtM's as well. I knew an FtM once, and though he was short and squat he had a beard and a deep voice, and had had a double mastectomy. Even so, there were times I slipped up and said "she" instead of "he" to refer to him. It was like the person, despite the somewhat male appearanc...

I dunno about more urbanized areas of the south, but rural southern accents are still very obvious, both in general pronunciation and vocabulary. Maybe not quite as obvious as when I was a kid (older people have always had more pronounced accents to my ear), but it's still there. I think code switch...

That was a very sad read. I hope the author gets help, not because I think they must be trans and in denial or anything like that, but because they're obviously not dealing well with their previous transgender feelings and identification. People that detransition should have as much support as curre...

Nambo: Neat! I had no idea wrens were rare in the UK. It's interesting what birds are common/rare in different areas. Makayla: I'm jealous! I wish when I was in high school there had been a birding club. When I was a kid my grandma's chimney always got chimney swifts during the summer, you could hea...

I'm not great at cooking. Multitasking is not my strong suit, and if I don't have exactly what I need in the kitchen I get very stressed out. Last week when visiting my family I was making lasagna, but my mom bought regular noodles instead of oven ready noodles and I got so upset I had to go into my...

I call the 2000's "the dark years". After 9/11 my already conservative area got really batshit conservative. As a queer teenager it was not fun and played no small role in my depression. The further in time we move from the 2000's the better as far as I'm concerned.

I've casually bird watched for about 4 years (although I've loved birds ever since I was a kid). I didn't realize how spoiled I was living in NYC and having easy access to Central Park until I moved away from it! I've never seen so many warblers as I did there. But Southern California is a great pla...
