I introduced my sons to them when he was only 3 yrs old....he's now 6 and his brother's 3 yrs old. So....

I was just wondering what you think about the show Pokemon. My 6 year old son has discovered it this weekend on a "weekend marathon" and now wants to watch it. I watched it with him, as I had never nor he ever watched it before. I love the animation, but I think it's also full of projectionist viole...

Be comforted in knowing that you have a tremendous support system out here in WP land...I know you've been there for me and I too am here for you. Sometimes it seems like we are about to fall apart at the seams, but, eventually...

Thanks blessedmom. My son also counts to himself quite often. I can here him whispering to himself things like 5,10,15,20,25, etc. I find it quite fascinating honestly, but till now, I didn't know why he was whispering words, whispering spelling of words, and whisper counting.

Do any of your children whisper words to themselves ? My son does. I wonder what makes him do that. For example, sometimes he's just staring at nothing and starts whispering a word to himself....or sometimes I can tell that he read a sentence, or billboard, or something like that and I'll here him p...

I am so glad I found this website and all of you. It's so comforting to know that my family aren't the only ones having these similar problems. We too usually try to find "kid friendly " restaurants whenever we can, and my husband and I also have to do the tag team thing with D. Indoor, loud, restau...

Oh, another thing that happens at the restaurant is once he's done eating all the while taking detours from his plate to check out other areas of the restaurant, he will begin trying to lay down in my lap like I'm a comfy couch, close his eyes and pretend snore....that's happened more than one ocass...

I know, sometimes I wonder why bother going to a restaurant anyway. When he's at home, he's fine, but get him in a setting with lots of noise and hustle and bustle and the asperger traits come out full force. I do feel however that a parent should expose their asperger child to these situations so t...

I sometimes wonder if I will ever find an easy way to deal w/my 6 yr old son in restaurant settings. The shaking his head from side to side rapidly while making ghost sounds and he always is compelled to "explore" the restaurant...my meal is almost always eaten cold by the time I get to it. Also, th...

My son loves tinker toys...the plastic ones. He's built me a kleenex box holder when I was sick. His favorite thing to do with them is to build an airplane steering wheel in which he takes us on long trips from our futon whenever he has the chance. He's been taking us for flights for over 2 years an...
