I don't care if NPD is a thing or not... All I know is that I am far more self-centered than I want to be. I'm never going to be satisfied if I stay as I am.

Anyway, it's causing problems and I want to know if there's anything I can do (without help, preferably) to not care so much about what people think of me and be more secure/independent and empathetic/caring/genuinely nice. You need something real that grounds you. Ask people you trust what they ho...

I thought he was referring to the politician, not gamers... If that's the case though, if he sincerely believed that games were the root of gun violence (which kind of seems doubtful) if makes sense to prioritize it.

It's normal to imagine things like people watching your life like a movie (not in a paranoid type way, though that happens too haha) or giving presentations about oneself and believing that everyone would find it massively interesting? Constant grandiose fantasies are normal?

Python's really good for beginning. Very simple/easy to understand code. You may be able to find courses on Coursera or Udacity or something, maybe MIT Opencourseware or Codecademy for it and other languages.

Chill. We aren't entitled to use the internet without advertisements. If it weren't for ads, you'd either be paying for youtube or not using it at all. That's how most free sites make their money. Realizing that you're taking this too personally doesn't give you an excuse to ignore reason and take i...

I don't think I really have synesthesia, but earlier today I was listening to music and almost ducked at one part because it seemed like it was going to hit me. Pretty amusing. It seems like it would be fun to have synesthesia.

Getting and SSD for swap seems like a waste to me... I don't game but I think 8 gb of ram should be plenty and swap shouldn't be necessary unless you plan to hibernate and even then a separate drive seems like overkill. The low end SSDs can be bought quite cheaply (in and around £40) and I've been ...

High-end gaming and Linux don't mix terribly well yet, so the games you can play will be limited, but should keep expanding. Most newish Nvidia GPU's should be compatible with Linux (I think) with few, if any, issues. AMD tends to be more problematic. Getting and SSD for swap seems like a waste to m...

I haven't started dating or anything yet, but thanks for this. I am guilty, or know I would be, of several of the pseudo-nice guy things you mentioned. Fortunately I have time to work on it.

I do not hate being called by my name, I just need time to process to recognize that someone has called my name (I have no visual image for it) and that I have to respond to it, meaning that when I hear the name to make a connection first to self and from self a connection to the person who said it...

It bothers me too. I never say someone's name unless I need to get their attention or in a greeting; it just feels weird. It's not just my name though, I don't like when people use other people's names excessively either.

Once someone is an acquaintance maybe initiate interaction with them when you get a chance and maybe eventually they'll ask you to do something with them and then you can do so in return. Or just learn to deal with having few real friends. At least you get along with people. That's where I seem to b...

Just out of curiosity, why do you despise Wikipedia? And Uncyclopedia can be funny, but sometimes people try too hard or just assume that obscene = funny. I am old school. People these days just run to Wikipedia for everything and reference it as fact. People don't put forth effort to research thin...
