So I love my solitude but right now its oppressive. I have no idea how to make friends or where to meet people who i'd actually WANT to spend time with. Going through OCD hell total lack of energy and worries about the future alone is not fun. How many of us are almost completely alone i.e. no stron...

I live a few minutes from a vast woodland area. Ive been meaning to go exploring but im "saving it" since I want my first foray to be a memory i'll savour for decades. I love forests and woodland particularly in summer where it feels as if ive been transported to a fantasy landscape. I can shed all ...

I've been drug free for 6 months and alcohol free for 3 months. My life sucks now. It's boring as hell. I don't do anything but sleep, go to AA/NA meetings and go to outpatient therapy. I'm not enjoying life at all - no movies, no restaurants, no walks in the park, no museums, no concerts, nothing....

Hi I'm 22 years old, male with Asperger's. I dropped out of uni/college about a year ago and moved back in with my parents. I now work part-time in a supermarket. I am depressed and have no idea what I'm going to do with my life. If you're also an aspie in your early 20s I'd be really grateful to h...

I am not diagnosed but WP is the only forum that feels like a sort of home. Autistics are such a varied bunch that interactions can range from blissful to fractious. If you find an aspie with whom you share special interests.... let the sparks fly. I have an opportunity to live in university flats w...

I thought this post was about avant-garde classical music... I love it oh, well don't understand the point of the topic though. why does it have to be obscure? Ah the point is to find obscure work within the genres of rock soul electronic music etc which experiments with style form harmony rhythm c...

Using toilet and not flushing, leaving mass amounts of washing up constant phone conversations etc The worst is the isolation, feeling as if I dont have anyone to just talk to about s...

Avant-garde/progressive/experimental music that breaks boundaries....hmm. Also you put a bit of an oxymoron in your post...it's hard to find popular music by popular artists that is also OBSCURE. I don't endorse this clip, but it seems to be exactly what you're asking for: popular music is a catch ...

Not to mention a massive strain on investigators and law enforcement which in turn leads to yet more cruelty and inhumanity.

So post your examples of "popular music" artists (electronic rock etc) who break boundaries. By popular artists I mean those who produce music which doesnt fall within the classical or jazz tradition . The idea is to find examples of "genre music" which is usurping the space reserved for classical a...

Last I checked current research implies cannabis does not cause any brain damage....now I wouldn't say it can't possibly effect brain cells or the hippocampus but it unclear how it effects it. I do know part of why medical marijuana is now used for epilepsy in some cases is because it helps protect...

So has anyone had success with self administering exposure therapy while enduring the agonising wait for professionally administered therapy.. What was your method?

Additionally how did you find exposure therapy once it was initiated

I support medical marijuana. I am totally against all recreational drug use and find it sick that people barely consider marijuana a drug anymore. If you want to support it, do it honestly. Admit that it's still a drug and still has negative effects. I'm even iffy about drinking until drunk. yehh i...

Does anyone feel somehow "Undeserving" of being called disabled, or as if there are people with worse issues who are "truly disabled"

Maybe you try and actively reject the label preferring instead to define your difficulties as positive traits to be embraced

Agency work is ideal for me I find. The inconstancy can be a little annoying but the fact is I make my own terms. If im feeling fragile I can avoid work for however long I please. I also value the independence and the opportunity to learn new skills in a whole range of different sectors. At the mome...

The strongest bonds ive had have been with girls oddly enough. I just dont know where the romance ends and friendship begins though so I feel a little edgy. I find that I dont really understand "manly men" at all but androgynes and I get on incredibly well. I consider myself to transcend gender and ...
