Yeah, that's a good one.

You are never too old to learn new things. I picked up the bass when I was 22.

I'm really liking the new album Morning Phase, which is very similar to Sea Change from 2002. I can't seem to get the song "Morning" out of my head.

If meeting other Aspies you may want to discover the answer to two of your probing questions. Are they a real Aspie or a fake Aspie? Are they more of an Aspie than you?

Not sure why someone would fake being an Aspie.

LOL!! ! Well played, amazon television!

Seriously, I thought I could avoid hassles about being a Coug on this site at least! :)

I love this topic since it is one of my biggest sources of anxiety at work. I'm usually pretty relieved when I don't have to walk past anyone down the "long hallway". Someone mentioned making brief eye contact about halfway through to gauge whether a "hello" is appropriate. This seems to work for me...

Yeah, Marky9, you should check it out. The worst that can happen is that you don't enjoy it. But at least you can say you tried it out.

To be honest, it was a bit awkward. I was expecting more of a moderated discussion thing, but it turned out to be just a group of people sitting around a table drinking coffee. Most there knew each other from past meetings and they were chatty, but I just kind of sat there and listened, adding a few...

I know that awkward feeling myself. "Did I say the right things? Was she just being polite? Was I boring? Do I mention this conversation the next time?" You know how it is.

However, I bet your NT friend didn't think anything more of it. Just a normal everyday conversation on a bus.

FORTRAN '77 is an old computer language that I was forced to learn (?) in college. It was the 1977 version of the language and FORTRAN '77 was the title of the textbook. I really hated that class. One day was trying to think of a user name for something or other and the textbook title FORTRAN '77 ju...

Funny that I'm about to give you advice since I was (am) the same as you with girls, but I suggest to play it cool. Just ask her if she is doing anything tomorrow (don't mention Valentine's Day at all). When she says she is not doing anything (hopefully), suggest a movie. Make it seem casual - at le...

Okay, I'm officially signed up to go to an Aspie Meet Up group this weekend. Some café in Portland. Again, not sure what to expect, but I'm sort of excited about it now. Wish me luck!

I'm introverted and guarded in public. I've probably conditioned myself to be like this over the years as a protective measure since I am easily flustered and prone to blushing when spotlighted. I also have the usual Aspie eye-contact problem. However, at home with family or out with close friends I...
