I'm most attracted to intelligence. I would say that's my number one. Every man I have been with or been interested in has been fairly intelligent or could be witty in conversation, at least. Simon Baron-Cohen says that autistics are lacking in cognitive empathy, not affective empathy. The former meaning knowing how people feel, the latter meaning feeling how others feel. I'd think a stereotypical politician would be the opposite. Knowing how others feel is important for getting their v...

My on and off boyfriend of almost 4 years has high-functioning autism. I have a sort of love/hate relationship with him. I care for him deeply, but he is a complete prick. Anywho, back to the point. He's extremely intelligent. Has a very high IQ score. Can learn things quite quickly. He can get real...

If I were you, I would get become more healthy and learn to exude more confidence. Who cares what you wear? Wear what you! If you want to dress for comfort, do that! If you want to wear something that makes you feel sexy, do that! If you want to wear something to illicit a certain response from peop...

Thank you, guys! Appreciate it.

What do you all think is holding people on the Spectrum back from taking on more leadership positions in the public sector? Obvious and not-so-obvious answers both appreciated!

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew of any leaders in the Public Sector (head of a government agency, senator, mayor, director of NGO/non-profit, cabinet member of a foreign country, United Nations ambassador, etc.) that are on the Spectrum. Whether in the United States or elsewhere. I am not look...

Thank you all for the advice thus far. I suppose the biggest question (since he's the first Aspie I've ever dated) is if the controlling aspect is more of an AS trait or its just his personality or some sort of combination. He is a very meticulous, intelligent person who holds himself to high standa...

I do not have Autism. I am NT, but diagnosed with ADHD. The man I am seeing has AS.

But yes, he does seem very controlling. However, admittedly, he has not forced me into anything serious other than combing my hair.

I am an NT female that has been on and off with an Aspie man for about two years now. We have great chemistry and a good understanding and, I admit, I deeply care for him. I know he is very particular about the people he surrounds himself with. The women he sees being no exception. He's expressed th...
