You remind me of one of my sisters friends, she was half chinese and really pretty. Thank you  . I don't have any Asian in my bloodline, but I do get asked that ...

Could it be agoraphobia? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agoraphobia
I used to feel the exact same way when I was younger, and that was the diagnosis that I was given.

Just out of curiousity, last night I asked my NT husband if he replays, and rehearses conversations in his head and out loud. To my surprise he said that he did. I asked him if he does it often, he said he did. I was quite shocked, as I've been married to him for 9 yrs, and I didn't know this. Maybe...

Yes, I see she is stimming. She is a lovely lovely person, and a fantastic singer. Wow, I didn't know the movements that she was making in that video was considered stimming. I do the same ones all the time. Now, I'm feeling a little embarrassed, wondering how that I must look to other people. yay ...

Yes, I do this too - both replaying and rehearsing. Most of the time I only do it out loud when I am alone though. I hadn't thought of this as an AS thing before - I just assumed everyone did it. Any NTs here to provide their views? I don't think it is an AS thing. I think it has to do with social ...

Hi Taken! Welcome to WP!
I also have 2 kids on the spectrum. That's what led me to learn about autism, and to this board initially. I hope that you find all the info, and feedback that you're looking for here.

Autism is my foremost perseveration, at the moment. It has been for about a year, since my youngest was diagnosed. I want to know everything about it so that I can be an expert as to how to help my boys the most. I came to this board to learn more to help my boys, and it was like I was reading about...

I think there was another thread about this about a month ago. For me, it was kind of like that Aha! moment when I read it. I was floored that other people do this, too. It was after I had read that thread that I figured that I must have AS. I have even caught myself lipping, and doing gestures, wit...

Is this how it is for you? Unsure of how to initiate anything physical, such as hugging, even if you need a hug or want to take the initiative? Terrified of giving off the wrong signals and misleading people? Unsure of boundaries in friendships and what friendship actually means? Totally clueless w...

I'm sorry that your mom is being so rude to you. I can't imagine EVER treating my kids that way. You just go about losing weight your way. I also think that it's great that you are setting boundaries with you mom. I've met people like your mom, a lot in my life, and it sounds to me like she just lik...

Welcome to WP! I'm a mother to 2 boys with ASD, a 5 yo with PDD-NOS, and ADHD, and a 3 yo with severe autism. There's quite a bit in your post that reminds me of my 5 yo when he was your sons age. Do you have any ideas as to what might be setting off your son's behaviors? How much language does he h...

I think it's very possible that I have AS, and that my husband has ADD. We have 3 kids, 2 of which have some form of autism. My youngest has severe autism, and no one is sure if my middle son has AS, or HFA. I think that genetics play such a huge role in ASD that if two people that have some form of...

Wow, I thought that I was the only one that experienced these feelings while watching TV/movies! I'm actually a little relieved that I'm not alone. I get embarrassed when I watch a love scene, and mortified to the point that I have to leave the room if it involves nudity. If my husband is watching w...
