I have total amnesia before the age of five. After that my memory kicks in. I do remember most of the faces of schoolmates and teachers, not always names, never body language. I'm not even sure what body language means in terms of "our" long term memory. I guess it's a case of our own individual pri...

I feel positively naked without my sunglasses indoors or out. I wear a cheap pair from my local Dollar store. Sort of an aviator frame with yellow tinted lenses, they look prescription so I get away with it. My all time faves are RayBan Wayfarer frames. That brown tortoiseshell frame is perfection f...

Well, the genre is obviously SciFi, which I haven't read in 30 years, not discounting the NewYorkPost. I'm recalling maybe Asimov and B.F.Skinner as vaguely similar. No critique from me, it is what it is. The only praise would be I want to read what happens next.

As hard as I've tried, I've never been a beer guy.(Loves me Scotch) Just read an article in some newspaper where a beer affiacinado stated that Belgian beer is the best. Is this true? I must say the new Heineken Lite to me is a delicious beer. I love all things Becks but can only consume in very sma...

<<Your brain got worn from ‘disaster-porn’ and ‘reality’ T.V. >> I'm glad you mentioned that. I've recently discovered that the behavior you see of NT's on "Reality TV" is exactly the same behavior they exhibit in the real world, in private or public. To "succeed", you really...

<<It is quite possible to get to your 50s and still not know what you want to be when you grow up. I am living proof!>> Reminds me of a line from Paula Poundstone. Why do you think adults are always asking children what they want to be when they grow up? Because they're looking for ideas for themsel...

I'm sometimes accused of staring at people. Really, I'm just trying to decipher what's going with their face. Obviously I know happy and sad( or I think I do), but it's all the hundreds of expressions in between that have me stumped. I think when I'm staring I'm just going through my memory bank for...

If everything you wrote is true, you'll probably never know exactly what caused the reaction from your neighbors. Mom and daughter had some kind of psychodrama amongst themselves and your the victim. This happens every day in the NT world. Have you ever watched any of those Lifetime channel movies w...

I think rites of passage are very important for a man. If your serious about it you can read some Robert Bly. There's very important stuff there despite his detractors. To the best of my knowledge you can not create something from nothing. You must have a base of experiences, be it physical or only ...

The only thing I collect are obsessions. Just kidding. I'm too broke to collect anything material so I guess the only thing I can afford to collect are thoughts and ideas.

My neighborhood in the '60's was a mystical magical place. All good strange things and experiences to revel in. Unfornuately it didn't last long. My immediate large family cruelly taunted and teased me throughout my young life. I didn't know why they hated me it was just a weird sort of natural thin...

No one here remembers but I became infatuated with a TV character in the '70's called Diana Danby from UpstairsDownstairs. It just so happens there was a girl in my school who was her spitting image. We partied hearty together over the years(she happened to be one of my sisters friends)but we never ...
