Thanks ive done loads of reading on AS but never heard of that... again its somehow reassuring to put it in context. On its own it would break your heart.

Yes watching my son I realise how important it is to be able to figure things out and not be afraid to make a mistake. He won't do anything anymore as making mistakes makes him melt down, art , writing , computer games,sports. Everything s 'too hard' ..

Id have been delighted a few years ago if they said he wasn't on the spectrum. My husband was very happy. But there's so many issues I found tge context of aspergers helpful. When I was told that he wasnt even borderline I was surprisingly disturbed by this and started to find the issues much harder...

Thanks a lot for replies. You've confirmed what I thought myself. She was very patronising .. when I was explaining concerns we have about my sons social skills she said 'some parents just want their children to be more sociable', which isn't the case at all me and dh are introvert s ourselves.
