I've noticed that not only do many aspies identify as one Jungian personality type or the other, but some aspie characteristics seem to be exaggerated behavior of NT traits of each type. For example I am an INTJ and do not identify with the obsessive acquisition of facts and strict adherence to rout...

I have noticed that superiors do out of insecurity. I see quite a high turnover rate of supervisors at my job and there is a night and day difference in how I am treated. Some leave me alone and consider themselves lucky they have someone who takes pride in their work hand doesn't play politics game...

Yes. My stepfather used to bully me, and treated me as the "black sheep" of the family. He used to tell embarrassing things about me to strangers, things they had no need to know but he told them anyway. I have an uncle who is your typical NT on steroids, and acts as if I make a choice to be differe...

Well, it is not a common disorder and so most people will not really know what it means. Even if you tell them that is is a form of autism, how many people will really know what autism is outside of the movie "Rainman"? To them, it means you like to do odd stims and ignore the existence of all othe...

Nearly every year I think about not showing up on Christmas. But every year I realize nothing will change because they will believe in the wrong cause of my absence.

fwiw, my mother has accused me for years of not "contributing to society" because of what I now know are most likely textbook traits of Asperger's. She likened me to a guy who lives his entire life in his mother's basement doing nothing but cocaine and watching TV because I (was) 21 and hadn't star...

Yes, but hostility =/= disrespect. Dogs can sense a lot of things, but I don't think disrespect is one of them. Disrespect can be hostile, but hostility is not necessarily disrespect. I actually wondered if aspies are better off with dogs/cats than your average NT but my belief is that we often don'...

Good luck. I wouldn't even bother telling my family if I were to be diagnosed. 1. they are mainly composed of extroverted dullards who aren't knowledgeable or open enough to produce any kind of positive net results from this, 2. they already treat me like most of society does, a complete inability t...

Many people who are legitimately ret*d contribute more to society than many who aren't. Why? Because they don't contribute a net negative, like many normal people do. http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/7876/keanunts.jpg http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/8334/keanuidiocracy.jpg

I was once accused of throwing autistic tantrums by some moron who felt it was necessary to: lose an argument, then attack me in another thread, then lose the argument, then attack me in another thread, in a vicious cycle wherein he could only cope with his profound stupidity by externalizing the ri...

I'm on the fence. While I do share the sentiment of some here that it isn't me, it's a xenophobic, intolerant and largely irrational society that is the cause of the problem, not necessarily the result, I think there is still a fine line there and I am clearly on another plane of intolerance. So it'...

Funny, I have a multifaceted story about this from January. I was at the Brewers expo, and during the middle of the day I was waiting in the long lines at the concession stand to get some lunch, and who do I see walking through the crowd of people? Zach Greinke, a commonly known SAD sufferer, and wh...
