Well, um, from a converse perspective, maybe he saw a rare person he could talk to but was afraid you would want a romantic relationship. If he is like me he might spend most of his social energy identifying the "threats" from possible friendships and proceeding to remover/piss off said threats.

For obvious, related reasons to diagnosis I prefer online much more. The unfortunate part is I come off as have so much more humanity online that when I meet people in person it is probably sketchy for both of us.

Mine were purely mental. They were an undesirable distraction that I wanted to but could not get rid of. They never really spill over into action, I'm too self conscious.
