That sounds awfully familiar.

My best friend since age 5 has borderline personality disorder, and she is *definitely* not Aspie at all. First of all, no one (at least not the author of this post) is saying that people with BPD are definitely going to resemble aspies most of the time - only that there are some interesting simila...

I would like to add that if you look at the DSM-IV symptoms, there are clearly a lot of differences between the two. The way the DSM-IV defines them, they barely seem related... but I think in actuality there are a lot more similarities than meet the eye. They are almost mirror images of each other....

There are a lot of similarities, actually, and I think a lot of the supposed differences are overblown. For example, the whole "AS is neurological and is with you at birth, BPD is not" thing. It's impossible to say that for sure. You can't diagnose AS when a baby is six months old, either. It is onl...

Stuff like what you are describing really weirds me out, and I think for good reason. I just think that real love is about partnership and equality, and I think while something like that could be enjoyable and exciting for a while (perhaps even, if not healthy, at least not particularly damaging to ...

Coke Zero does have aspartame. The entire point of diet soda is that it is calorie free and therefore does NOT cause obesity. I believe that some people have hypothesized that people who drink a lot of diet soda develop crazy sweet tooths (teeth?) and therefore end up eating more in the long run and...

I have a good friend who is very much into Inforwars and Alex Jones and stuff, and while some of what he says is true, so much of what is on that site is complete BS. There are so many facts in that one interview that can be immediately disproved by a quick Google search. Example - the first modern ...

Actually, according to Tony Attwood's book on Asperger's, aspies tend to be good looking with symmetrical facial features and an "angelic" quality to their faces. Why this is, I don't know, but it's in the book. I suppose the angelic face could be explain by the "neutral" look we can have.

It makes a lot of sense that aspies would be diagnosed with depression more often that classic autistics. For starters, aspies tend to be "higher functioning" but they still have a lot of problems. So, they are always on the fringe of success and feeling "included," yet often success is limited in i...

My mother almost certainly has AS or HFA (she didn't speak until she was nearly 4), whereas my dad is definitely more NT although he's still not very NT - social life is just not important to him.

I know exactly what you mean. I am a total perfectionist. I'm sure there are many factors that have led to my situation, some neurological and some psychological. I am indeed a very talented person, and I've always enjoyed tremendous success in everything I've ever truly wanted to do. I was also an ...

Sex itself isnt a sin, just as eating isnt, but eating can become a sin as in gluttony. When sex is used outside its proscribed setting of marriage, it can be one of the most devestatingly evil acts short of murder. You see, sex can produce children, where you ever brought up in a Childrens home wh...

I'm too lazy to respond to specific points at the moment, but I think a lot of the stuff said about women vs. men and AS is misleading and/or totally false. For one thing, it depends on how we frame the question... are we talking about how AS affects women, or are we talking about how women with AS ...
