Any other fluent French speakers with a special interest in grammar and syntax, like me? Anyone else notices every time these psychoanalysts, in the film, present an argument, all the conjunctions they use ("thus, therefore, but") etc., do not actually join the different parts of their sentences in...

Hi there, I am fascinated by the French take on dyslexia, dyspraxia and autistic spectrum. I knew that the French intelligentsia etc... psychoanalysts etc... were v much involved in promoting Lacan, but until I saw this film I had no idea to what extent psychiatry and psychology had also been damag...

Eating noises, loud breathing, sniffling and snorting. Basically. any noise that my Dad makes. The ones that irritate me the most: a) when he drinks a mouthful of tea, he feels the need to swish it around in his mouth a few times before swallowing b) he'll snort, wait a few seconds, then lou...

I think a lot of people still "go" on street corners. In regards to the weighted blankets: the rule I know is 1/10th of your weight plus a pound. My blanket is 17 pounds and I love it. We're not talking weighted blankets, we're talking packing: a child wrapped in freezing wet sheets against his wil...

Tickles , make me murderous (barely exaggerating ) The obvious ones like not being believed , people being thick seemingly on purpose , but the weirdest one is this one : people refusing to learn . I'll try to help someone by telling them about something they obviously don't know , and they say some...

I just wanted to tell joe and sweetleaf what is meant by "you own your thoughts ": people stare and you think "they stare like i'm ugly and stupid ". The way out of this is to change your thoughts to: "they stare like they are stupid and mean and close minded ". Not only does this thought shift the ...

When we're speaking about personal things and the person is not really agreeing or trying to persuade me without saying it out loud, that I'm not really right, I tend to pick up on it pretty easily. Now a big problem I have is this one: speaking with someone who is not my friend but DEFINITELY on my...

I would assume the group who discriminates the most would have to be the same as the aspie's. I'm a caucasian female: to me caucasian females are the worst. Because they feel we're the exact same type of people and they should be able to relate to me and I to them, and it's not possible. They judge ...

Is alexithymia caused by the lack of the internal narrative voice to put one's unworded thoughts and feelings into words? Nope. I have alexithymia and a very chatty internal narrator. Agreed, it's not related. I am most verbal in my head when visualizing situations to come does not seem to produce ...
