Non-intelligent people believe how well a person is able to regurgitate back information indicates intelligence. That's knowledge. An intelligent person can be ignorant. Intelligence is the ability to create novel thoughts. Geniuses generate ideas, alternatives, etc. A book smart person without inte...

From what I've observed other people experiencing regarding diagnoses, it is critical to find someone competent in their job. That can demand opinions from many different professionals before getting an accurate assessment.

Bad posture is not the result of lack of confidence. Does this mean 100% of the time? I never want to give the impression that things I say cover 100% of anything. I hate having to always say, "Generally speaking, most likely, etc." Maybe if I rephrase this statement about bad posture it would be u...

In body language, slouching is associated with insecurity and lack of strength. Confident posture says: "I'm in control. I'm in control over my body, and over my mind." For example, a happy dog that knows it pleases its master and knows its master loves him may prance with a bit of bounce in its ste...

What is the best thing i should do? I am confused. A confused state is a vulnerable state. Be like an investigator compiling evidence. Demand proof. Don't blindly accept what you're told. The tough part is your age. Your lack of life experience most likely will work against you. The older someone i...

You sound lost and heading for a crash. That's only a bad thing if you have the wrong kind of sorrow.

It's a vicious cycle I can't get out of. Believing we can't is what keeps us trapped in it. Each additional bite of wrongful eating can reinforce this lie. That's why the focus needs to shift from passivity to assertive action. You know what your temptations are. Create plans to avert this pattern ...

Procrastination exists among all groups of people. Indecision is another matter. A good example of where Aspies get challenged is with multiple choice questions on exams. The choices tend to create more questions. I remember often thinking, "What does the teacher mean by that?" We think about detail...

You described what I go through perfectly! At least I can have the comfort of knowing this doesn't just happen to me. Thank you tjr1243 for putting this as you did, especially the part about editing and re-editing words to try to get them appropriate! This thread is going to have me rethink all that...

He said my new haircut made me look a lot cleaner/less scruffy. Whatever, it's a haircut, you know? I'm still the same person. Why such different treatment? How do you deal with such people that used to not like you, then you change (usually just superficially) and they like you? As a Christian, yo...

I'm sorry I can't quite encapsulate this experience in this post or the post title, but does anyone know what I mean!??? I know all too well what you mean. I'm beginning to think there is no balance that works. Hinting is ignored. Being tactful, direct, and humble doesn't work either. Instead of ar...

I too find that the hours seem to go missing without sunshine in the day. Today is one of them.

I plan to buy an attractive hourglass and put it on my desk. Watching sand pour down gives a good visual impression of how time only goes in one direction.

I think I don´t want to try to have an account until there is no other way to keep contact to others. By the way, my school time is over in a few months and then I hope that I am out of this problem. The only reason there would be no other way to keep contact with others would be because of caving ...

I should mention that almost all Lutheran churches practice a rather restrained worship, with the possible exception of a splinter group who left the Evangelical Lutheran Church In America (ELCA) for a more pentecostal type worship, and so called "progressives" in my own Missouri Synod who want to ...
