At my age (49) I am more than HAPPY to be labeled & diagnosed as having Asperger's. Hell, I'm even planning to buy a medical ID bracelet that says "AUTISM." Why? After a while you get TIRED of being inundated with the same probing questions: "How come you're not married?" "How come you're not a ...

Hey Jetbuilder. For a while I wondered if I was on the spectrum. I took all the online tests and they all confirmed i was on the spectrum. However, just to make sure, I decided to get an evaluation from a professional. I was screened by Clinical Psychologist Cary Terra, LMFT in Seattle and she agree...

'Who Wants To Live Forever' by Queen

There's no time for us-
There's no place for us-
What is that thing that builds our dreams
Then slips away from us
Who wants to live forever?

In 1992 I attempted suicide. It wasn't a half-hearted attempt either. I really meant it. I washed down 48 Benadryl capsules with Michelob. (I figured 24 caps would do the trick but I took another 24 just in case). I ended up spending two months in a psych hospital. I have 4 brothers and 1 sister but...

For myself I would make a lousy boss because I don't like confronting anyone. Of course, I tend to do so many things alone that I'd probably also be a lousy business partner. But that's just me.

I was abused quite a lot growing up. I was beaten by the teachers in school. I was bullied by kids in elementary & high school. I was physically abused by father. (My mother had left). So I would think I'm socially withdrawn - even till now - because of all these abuses. Of course, I also have A...

As someone with Asperger's, I definitely feel your pain. It's like when i saw "Adam." That movie was extremely hard to watch because of the bullying - which was like me being bullied all over again. I'm sure if I was in the store, and overheard their callous conversation to you and your brother, I w...

Ben X. I think it's a Dutch or Swedish film. Anyway, it's hard for me to watch because the main character gets bullied in high school - and it's like I'm being bullied all over again. It does make you wonder - how many Aspies commit suicide just to 'get away from it all?'

Value Village. There are a few of those in Seattle. I guess I'm a cheapskate too becauue I only go clothes shopping about once every two-three years. The one black jeans I own is about 8 years old. My sneakers can DEFINITELY be retired.

I'm a male. In this country my first name - Robin - is basically female though there are several famous male Robins: Robin Williams, Batman & Robin, Robin Hood, etc. For years I used my middle name - Ray. I've learned to accept Robin now because it's me, it defines me, it's who I am, and if peop...
