All I can say is keep going. In fact, either find a new plot for the novel (use similar characters and scenarios, but think of a different structure), or else find a new novel to write entirely.

Read widely, write repeatedly until it gets good, and make sure you have someone who's willing to critique your work besides yourself.

Unfortunately, the only 'black and white' film that I have seen from the past 25 years is Sin City. It's striking and perversely enjoyable, but I wouldn't call it the best black and white film of the past 25 years simply because I have watched no other.
