My diagnosis was one of the biggest reliefs of my life. I finally realised what was 'wrong' with me all these years....NOTHING! Now that I know why I am how I am, and that there are plenty of others who are the same, I can go about my life as I want, and more easily find like-minded people if the ne...

My mother, whose father most likely had Asperger's, and is possibly an Aspie herself, just recently came around....I mean, I was dx'ed in 2000, and my mother was fighting me tooth and nail about it till roundabout 6 months ago! Stay! Being here will ultimately make you feel better....for the support...

Greetings like 'hi' bother me. I see no point to them, so I rarely use them. I also have trouble with the concept of waving at people.

I, as well as a lot of the Aspies I know, am actually way OVER empathic....but the trouble with expressing it, as well as the trouble reading other people's superficial expressions, belies that fact.

Ehh...I have a boyfriend, and even if they've seen him, it doesn't work. Either that, or they hear the word 'boyfriend' and run like hell, meaning friendship OVER.

I'm out of ideas.

I have a very hard time imagining how others could find me attractive, despite having seen ample evidence over the years that many of them DO, and despite the amount of effort I've put into improving my appearance. It might sound ridiculous (because I know I'd find it ridiculous if anyone who wasn't...

Oiiiiii....when you figure out the answer to this, please let me know. Even though I am very NOT asexual (to say the least), I have had this problem with male friends who I just didn't like 'that way' for ages.....even to the point where I'm now VERY wary of men who want to befriend me, wondering wh...

Don't know, but then again I never sought any out....though I am quite well aware that my diagnosis played a part in my law school's decision to give me a scholarship.

I have, and always have had, a problem with the idea that some people are supposedly 'due' more respect FROM me than they GIVE me. This was a huge problem for me in school, particularly as a child. The idea of 'respecting' (ie, obeying every wish and command, no matter how stupid) someone just becau...

Thanks a lot....I will try it, and look for the book as well. Anything that could help, I'm willing to give a shot. One positive thing this experience has given me, though, is an insight into how OTHER people used to feel having to deal with me when I was a little....ehh....how to put this nicely?.....
