... I think that the most valid perspective on life is the one which most closely matches what you ... are experiencing at any given moment; the view which *does not deny* your subjective experience. ... 'Subjective experience' is the biggest delusion. Sorry. As you said on another thread "Quining ...

aghogday, I'm sure you think that your seeing everything as one is deeply meaningful. It isn't though. The problem and the fact that you and we all have to come up with is that we all have broken minds. The whole of reality is broken. No, even worse, it is not something where the terms "broken" and...

Thank you all very much for some really interesting replies. :) Am mulling them over. Then why are there punishments in Islamic law (Sharia)? Why punish people for their actions if the very same actions are all under God's control, and thus preordained by God? I answered "I don't know" to this yeste...

I've been getting it too, sometimes as often as twice per post, and every time I edit or preview, and I also seem to have to write something in the comment window too or the Captcha tests go on for ever. :( :? I am only just beginning to read about it all. I was rather hoping that people with more experience and/or k...

So you have a favourable opinion of a particular religion simply because it does not (by your account) have a concept of free will? Care to elaborate on why you hold this belief? Seems like a quite arbitrary criteria for approval compared to the substantial tenets of a religion... Islam, ( Edit. or...

Been looking, on and off, this last few years, for a religion/church/Monotheism which doesn't believe in Free Will, and failing. The closest I was able to find for ages was Calvinism, but it wasn't quite right because the absence of free will only seemed to apply to spiritual acts or something ... (...

My English grandmother had it too. Apparently Alzheimers is being increasingly referred to as Diabetes 3, because of the role that refined sugar/carbohydrate consumption may be playing in its development, so a system/method for preventing it may be possible ( not sure if it can be cured/reversed tho...

I am currently exploring this myself. And I know that another WP member, Morgana, has been following a very low carbo diet for a while and found/finds it very helpful/useful. I have in the past followed gluten-free and casein/dairy-free diets ( for periods ranging from a few weeks to a couple of yea...

Autism Q 35 out of 50 Alexithymia 58 out of 100 ( borderline ) Somatosensory 35 out of 40 ... I was interested by the explanation of this on the Qu. saying that it is probably/possibly a measure of differences in "long-latency cognitive processing", because that would fit with how incredibly long it...

I *wish fervently* that my parents had deigned to talk to me as if I was capable of understanding this sort of thing, rather than saying all the time that I was too young to understand/that I wouldn't understand until I was older etc. I accept that there were some/still are some :lol things that I d...

My AS son dealt with this by asking not to go, to be able to do home-unschooling, and I said yes. He tried pre-school aged 3 for a morning and hated it desperately/seemed practically traumatised/deeply shocked in some way by it in fact and I didn't make him go back. He tried school again aged 5 for ...

Well, now I've been told off at work for not meeting the dress code--I wasn't wearing a bra. So I've come home to put my bra on and I've started taking my hormones again because I'm not going to have male sweat smell on a bra--eww, :( Am stunned that a workplace has the right to make a woman(-ident...

I haven't managed to solve this one either; as soon as I "grew out of" the routine/rhythm which school had instilled in me, of getting up and going somewhere for 7 hours a day etc, which process of deconstruction started at uni, ( irregular lectures, non-obligatory tutorials etc ), and continued whe...

I don't think enough attention is paid to this aspect/experience of the 36%/subset of people on the spectrum, that of feeling as if the world is inside one's head, and that other people are "mere" avatars ... no less fascinating or important for being so, just not "real" in the same way as oneself. ...
