THE SEA OF NIGHT In sleep I would swim Through a surf of memory. Small thoughts brush against my skin Like startled fleeing fish. Coral crags share my passages - Large concepts which are the mountains Of the planet of my mind. Dim blue threats make lazy turns In the murk of unfamiliarity Where clari... |

I have written lot of poetry and quite a a few articles for an on line magazine but real writing of fiction eludes me as I find difficulty putting myself into the minds of characters. I frankly do not seem to have the emotional outlook of other people and that brings difficulties. |

One objection to the idea that AS is an evolutionary step is that so many AS characteristics can be negative. But this merely reveals a misconception about evolution. A genetic complex merely presents the environment with a possible variation. The overwhelming bulk of mutations are not only negative... |

Here in the suburbs of Helsinki the hedgehogs run all over the place. About 18 of them found my place when I left my door open at night for my cat. They would come in to eat out of the cat food bowl. Tey are not as responsive as other animals and fought continuously amongst themselves. When out walk... |

An early testosterone exposure does not rule out a multiple gene factor. The testosterone process may be merely one element in a multiple gene process which also manipulates other factors. Of course, this is all speculation as I have no expertise in the matter. |

I've had close relationship with all sorts of animals. Cats, dogs, seagulls, hedgehogs, rats, mice, a muskrat, a praying mantis, and at the moment I have a sparrow I raised from a baby. They all have been very rewarding and good friends. If you like them and treat them well they will behave the same... |

THE JANITAUR There came a time, at last, for the race of man To pack itself into a huge tin can And, puffing plasma, set out for the stars. With a sidelong glance at Mars they fled From off their planet, which they'd made dead. For a million years they'd picnicked on those grounds, Then left them, b... |

My mind makes images out of the rather formless shapes that penetrate my eyelids so I continuously see scenes when I close my eyes to sleep. Sometimes I am conscious of the shapes of cells in my eyes that become crawling insect forms or undersea arthropods in scrambling masses or giant thick legged ... |

Some minds find small rewards in adhering to fantasy speculation with little or no evidence in their favor. If that is a closed mind I suppose it is a form of rigidity. Nevertheless, when acceptable evidence appears in favor of a particular fantasy, it is possible for that mind to open to a new poss... |

It has been proposed that many of the characteristics of being human as opposed to the general primate family is the extended immature period of growth wherein the tendencies for play and fantasy play a much larger part in the life of the individual. In effect a human remains relatively mentally fle... |

Since AS is not digital, either on or off, I doubt it is a single gene that controls its presence. There is a whole spectrum of AS people from barely there to a massive display of characteristics so I assume it is a cooperative effort by a community of genes with a basic group necessary for a minimu... |

I am new here and originally was not sure I had the syndrome but I took an on line test and it seems very likely I have it. What concerns me is the genetic aspect. It seems that AS appears in family lines which indicates it is inheritable. I put this speculation out not to inflate the ego of AS peop... |
