There does seem to be a spectrum of preference for nice or blunt. I guess it's based on upbringing. Typically those from a blunt background find niceness too sickly-sweet, and those from nice backgrounds find bluntness too oppressive. I think most WP users don't have a problem with "blunt"...

There seems less engaging discussion of topics related to autism and more social-emotional support messages. I don't think the woman's behavior was hypocritical. Rude and jerkish (is that a word?...It is now.), but not hypocritical. If she had said something like 'That's alright, everyone makes mistakes," then maybe. She wasn't rude and jerkish when she spoke to me, she was very nice and even motherl...

I have been a member since 2010 and I disagree with Fnord. I also noticed more "nastiness" in the last year or so.

No, she never told me I was stupid, she was (seemed) nice, and told me nicely (the way a person who actually cares about your well being would do) that I should not leave my purse opened and unattended, that someone might steal. How am I doing the exact same thing???? I'm not talking behind my back am I??? See the thing is the woman didn't tell me she thought it was stupid, nor that she even thought that leaving my purse opened and unattended was stupid, she was nice to me and advised me nicely not to leave my purse opened...

Since when is intentional rudeness an Aspie trait, and/or something specific to WP? I have noticed quite the opposite, on WP, and elsewhere. On the other hand there is plenty of (intentionally) rude people in the world, and most of them are not autistic. Myself I know that eventho I certainly have ...

My birth weight was around 5 lbs (or 5 1/2, I can't remember exactly), and not premature.
