What kinds of computer games are available on a Mac?

I've only purchased a Mahjongg game recently and it was in the $20-$30 range if I remember correctly.
I got it from our local Mac store (a privately owned store... not the Apple-owned store), so it was probably a bit more expensive than if I found it somewhere else.

I recently downloaded OPERA for a new browser and there are widgets available that are games.
This is how I got the old game, ASTEROIDS.

just go bt monster. Mac games usually tend to be more for intellects really, you get some great rts god games for them and simulation. You don't get as many games for a mac mainly because you can download them without worrying about hidden virus's hidden in the software.

They don't need to cost money either.
There's a lot of freeware and open source games that run on mac, and getting more and more.
Since Apple decided to take up the BSD platform, porting is a doddle, so you'll probably be seeing more and more games come out for mac.

Macs and games. Lol

I don't tend to think of the Macintosh as a gaming system. What sort of CPU do you have? If you have an Intel chip, you can dual boot something like Windows XP (XP is "broken in" while Vista has too many problems at the moment).

If you're into old-school DOS games, you can download DosBox (http://www.dosbox.com/), which is basically a DOS emulator and run it from within Mac OS.
