I've recently downloaded Second Life, and it crashes whenever I try to log in.

I'm using Second Life version _19_1_4, and Mac OS X version 10.4.2.

What could be causing this issue, and what can I do to resolve it?

I checked before I downloaded the client, and what other information do you require?

What are your computer's specs? Which OS are you using? I'm on an imac aluminum and don't have any problems.

My operating system is in bold text.

I'll have to look up my computer's specs and get back to you.

Click the Apple at the top left corner of the screen, go to "Software Update", get everything there then try it again. No one should be running 10.4.2, everyone should either be on 10.4.11 or 10.5.2 at the moment.

Why should they?

Thanks, I'll try the software update.

Each version increment is like a service patch, it contains loads of bug fixes and security updates of all kinds. Regardless of whether it helps the crashing problem or not, you should have it anyways.
