I remember back in 2004 there were rumors about Scream 4 going to be made and it came true.

I've only seen the first Scream. It's been a while since the last one came out, hasn't it? I wasn't expecting a fourth installment.

Neither was I. They third one came out in 2000. If they were planning a fourth, why did they wait so long?

It might be the same thing as the Star Wars prequels coming out what, fourteen years after the OT ended? Just waiting on the technology to catch up.

Maybe they decided to make a new one? Sometimes it can take years before they get a movie started.

They filmed it in Ann Arbor where I live and just a few blocks from my house too. My son and his mother met David Arquette and Neve Campbell at one of the locations.

I noticed the tagline of the movie says "New Decade. New Rules." By this, I can surmise that perhaps they are making this movie to reflect on the norms of horror movies that have come out during the 2000s. The first three movies were reflective of horror films of the '90s.

Why didn't you meet them?

Did you meet any actors too?

This is actually becoming quite common. Wall Street and Tron for instance.

But there was a quote in there from "When A Stranger Calls"(1979). Since it's been so long since the original, they may be going back to the norms of horror movies in Maureen Prescott's time (Sydney's mom). I think she was a 70's actress. I mean, why show the picture of her so clearly in the trailer?

Plus there wasn't much of 2000's horror aside from remakes, sequels, "torture porn", and foreign rip offs. They're better off going pre-90's.

It took them awhile to make Mozart and the Whale. When I read the book, it seemed like they had it planned in the 90's to make it and they didn't even start till 2004. But the movie release got delayed. It didn't come out till 2005 instead.

And it took them a while to make Men in Black II. I remember hearing about it on IMDB when I was 13 or 14 but it never got released and it finally was in 2002. It just took them a while to get started on it. And sometimes movies get canceled. I remember seeing a Jamanji 2 and it never happened. Dumbo II also got canceled and so did The Aristocats 2.

Oh yeah and the same thing happened with Back to the Future. There was never meant to be a 2 and a 3 and the ending of the first one was a joke. But instead people thought there was going to be a sequel and they wanted one. So the director decided to make one. But he had to re write the whole script because the man that plays Marty's father didn't want to be in it so he had to re write it and he changed the story line. My memory might not be accurate here. I watched the audio commentary on the movies only once. So that's why it took them four years to make BTTF2 and in the first one they changed the ending to "To be Continued" on the screen when it ends.

So sometimes movies are made by request because it's how they make money. Scream 4 was probably made by request since people seemed to want a 4th one so bad. They kept talking about it on the movie forums on IMDB about the Scream movies.
