Instead of me creating a list (too stressful to list 150 movies!) I figured I'd just comment on your list as it's a pretty good one.
1984
1. The Terminator - Took a girl on a date to see this. In typical aspie fashion, I ended up spending all my attention on the movie and not her.
2. Ghostbusters - This was okay. Its popularity perplexes me, tough.
3. The Killing Fields - Excellent film. Led to one of my special interests and that is studying the whole Khmer Rouge conflict. Those lieutenants were absolutely heartless to their own people. I don't get it.

1985
1. Brazil - Bizarre film. I didn't understand Gilliam's vision. Kind of like an offshoot of Monty Python, I guess. Very British humour.
2. Re-Animator - I liked this. They made a big deal of its violence back in the day. I guess no one saw Flowers of Flesh & Blood to compare it to.
3. Back to the Future - Fun movie. Its logo alone has spawned thousands of imitations. I expect there'll be remakes pretty soon.

1986
1. Aliens - I'm surprised Alien didn't make your list. I liked all four Alien films. Ripley was bad ass. In related news, Sigourney Weaver even ended up doing an autism film, too. It's called Snow Cake.
2. Platoon - I was a little late getting into the theatre so I had to sit in the first row. Oy! My neck! The film blew me away, though. Still one of my favorites. Barnes! Barnes!
3. The Fly - You know, Jeff Goldblum always seems to play the same character. I thought this was the same persona in Jurassic Park. Good movie.

1987
1. Robocop - Popular film back in the day. Like a lot of movies, the first was the best. Forward looking, too. In the future we will see real RoboCops.
2. Full Metal Jacket - Took a while to see this because I thought it would be a ripoff of Platoon. The first half is my favorite, though. Only steers and queers come from Texas, boy, and you don't look like a steer!
3. Predator - Alien rastafarians! Seriously though, this was better than it should have been. Reminds me of Cliffhanger, a film that was better than it should have been.

1988
1. Die Hard - I was hesitant at first because Bruce Willis was a TV star and I really didn't watch TV. I thought it'd be junk. It was good, though.
2. Dead Ringers - I don't remember this one all that well. Jeremy Irons movie, right? I might have to revisit it some day.
3. Who Framed Roger Rabbit - Cute. I even bought the video game of it. Real innovative at the time, too.

1989
1. Batman - I was skeptical at first. I always saw Batman as being big and strong which Michael Keaton wasn't. Beetlejuice as Batman? I guess it was okay. A little 'over the top', though.
2. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - Is this the one with Short Round? I don't remember.
3. Drugstore Cowboy - Surprising turn from Matt Dillon. Very depressing and realistic film.

1990
1. Goodfellas - I waited to see this because I thought it was a rehash of The Godfather. Good movie, though. Ray Liotta was on point in this film.
2. Miller's Crossing - I saw half of this film and got rid of it. It seemed like a talkfest. I may have to revisit this one again.
3. The Hunt for Red October - Good movie except it didn't faze me that much. It reminds me of Crimson Tide in that the tension between the captain and his subordinates seemed overdone.

1991
1. Silence of the Lambs - I was on the edge of my seat in this film. Man, it was frightening! I remembered where I saw this, too. I was living in NYC at the time. Times Square, to be specific.
2. Terminator 2: Judgement Day - The liquid man effect was so unique back then that, even today, the effect still stands up as groundbreaking.
3. Point Break - I saw this a few times. Not sure why it ends up on a lot of top ten lists. Then again, I'm not a fan of Keanu Reeves. Like Brad Pitt, he's getting a free ride in Hollywood.

1992
1. Reservoir Dogs - I wish Tarantino had the budget to film the bank heist gone wrong. At first this film's talkfest approach turned me off but I grew to like it.
2. The Crying Game - Good flick. Starts off as one thing then changes into another. I like films like that, like Magnolia.
3. Batman Returns - This was okay, I guess. I don't know. Tim Burton's movies just don't hit me that much. They're just too fantastic and far from believable.

1993
1. Schindler's List - made at the same time as Jurassic Park. Can you imagine? I was in Hollywood studying screenwriting at the time and read the original script at the AMPAS library which had director's notes!
2. Falling Down - I saw this at The Commodore in Brooklyn with a few guys from a drug treatment program. Scary theatre. Gang bangers were there toting Mac-10's in their sleeves.
3. True Romance - Originally I was turned off because of the title. Romance? Yuck. It was an okay movie but I can see why Tarantino disavows it.

1994
1. Pulp Fiction - I didn't get this one at first. Too weird with the way scenes were juxtaposed. Now it's one of the few movies I know every line and every scene. I remember they hated this in Hollywood, too.
2. The Shawshank Redemption - This one I just don't see its appeal. Baffles me to no end. I'm definitely in the minority here. Same as Green Mile. These movies just seem pretentious, like Oscar bait.
3. Leon: The Professional - I saw the French original. It was much grittier than this American version. It was an okay movie, though.

1995
1. Se7en - What's in the box?! What's in the box?! Ah, do you really want to know?
2. Casino - Good movie. De Niro playing De Niro. They show the edited version on TV a lot.
3. GoldenEye - A James Bond flick on the list? I'm surprised. I like 007, but you can't help but think that when you see one you've seen them all. Yes, I know. Sacrilege!

1996
1. Trainspotting - I saw this in Rhode Island at a relatively small theatre. Wow, the brogue was a little hard to understand. Such a popular film now for introducing the world to those actors who became famous.
2. From Dusk Till Dawn - This was okay, I guess. I thought it was a little tedious.
3. Fargo - Again, a film I am utterly surprised that people adore and makes top ten lists. I don't get it. I've seen it all the way through, from beginning to end, and it just didn't touch me. What do I know?

1997
1. L.A. Confidential - Came out around the same time as Titanic. My friend thought it was better than Titanic, though. I thought it was pretty good film noir.
2. Face/ Off - I liked this. Saw it a few times. It's one of those movies that stick with you long after you've seen it, too because of the imagery.
3. Bound - Can you imagine? You create this film then turn around and release something like The Matrix? Up your sleeve all that time? Amazing. Gina Gershon was spot on in it, too.

1998
1. The Big Lebowski - Yet another film I don't see why they make a big deal out of it. They even have Big Lebowski nights here in Seattle. I'll have to revisit this picture. Did nothing for me the first time.
2. Fear and Loathing Las Vegas - Fifteen minutes into this movie and I had to get rid of it. The acting was too crazy. If the whole film was like that, it wouldn't have been for me. Maybe I'll try again.
3. Saving Private Ryan - I liked this. Spielberg can really create some long lasting imagery, that's for sure.

1999
1. The Matrix - Very good movie. Talk about innovative. Ruined a little by Mr. Free Ride himself, Keanu Reeves. Still, it worked despite his presence.
2. Three Kings - This one surprised me because, up till then, I thought George Clooney was getting a free ride through Hollywood like Johnny Depp.
3. American History X - Ooh! Graphic film and very brutal. This movie is still referenced by people even till today.

2000
1. Gladiator - I thought this was okay, but Oscar material? That was surprising. Not that I think Russell Crowe is getting a free ride, but I thought it was like those 60's spectacles and, so, nothing special.
2. Memento - I liked this. Very unique at the time. The French horror film Irreversible borrows this technique. BTW, Irreversible is on my top ten of most graphically violent films. Oy, it's brutal!
3. American Psycho - this was okay. Because of the title I was expecting stomach-turning violence. Fooled me! History of Violence also fooled me, too.

2001
1. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - One of my favourite films of all time. Visually, it was a dream to behold.
2. Brotherhood of the Wolf - I saw this once, the subtitled version. The subtitles weren't well done and was distracting. Okay movie, though.
3. The Devil's Backbone - Never saw this movie, I don't think. If I did it didn't sink into my consciousness.

2002
1. Minority Report - Overblown. I consider this a Spielberg miss, and the fact he had the ultimate free ride actor, Tom Cruise, in it. You can actually see Tom Cruise act in his films. It's not transparent at all.
2. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Excellent movie. How a director goes from The Frighteners to these films is beyond me. Special drugs in New Zealand, I guess.
3. Insomnia - I actually liked this. Finally, one of those rare instances where I liked a film that others thought "meh." I guess because Al Pacino can do no wrong in my eyes.

2003
1. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - They should've ended this one after the climactic scene where king bows to Frodo, Sam and the others. The rest where they're jumping on the bed? Cut!
2. X-Men 2 - I like all the X-Men films. X-Men is really a great metaphor for Asperger's Syndrome. There are special powers. Some people like being aspie and some hate it. Some are hidden and some obvious.
3. Alien: Director's Cut - Oh, you do have Alien on here. My bad. I never saw the director's cut, though. I wasn't even aware of it till now. I'll definitely check it out, though. I first saw this in Iowa in college.

2004
1. Monster - I think Charlize Theron deserved her Academy Award. Very grim film, huh?
2. Dead Man's Shoes - Never saw this. As a matter of fact, I've never even heard of it till now. I'll look into it. Thanks for suggesting.
3. Saw - As poor as the acting was, it is one of my favourite films because the film makers could've dropped the audience in at any point in its circular storyline and it wouldn't have made a difference.

2005
1. Batman Begins - I thought the best thing about this was Liam Neeson and Bruce Wayne's training in the Himalayas. I also liked that Nolan went out of his way to make Batman feel realistic.
2. Sin City - This was okay, I guess. Film noir. When I see movies like this I automatically compare them to classic noir like Double Indemnity, The Maltese Falcon and The Big Heat. I shouldn't really.
3. A History of Violence - This was okay, I guess. I actually thought it could've been even more violent. That's what I get for watching all these Takashi Miike films.

2006
1. Pan's Labyrinth - This one surprised me (I mean the violence). Although it was a little uneven in certain scenes, overall I recommend it to people.
2. The Departed - Not sure what the Academy saw in this. I thought it was okay but Martin Scorcese is always just thisclose to greatness without actually swallowing its fruit.
3. Casino Royale - This was okay. Unfortunately, like a lot of Bond films, I don't remember who the bad guy was or what gadgets were introduced. The similarity of plot is a turn off, though.

2007
1. This Is England - I've been meaning to see this. I heard it got good reviews.
2. Zodiac - Two movies with exactly the same plot was released at the same time. I saw them both. They were really kind of the same, too. I thought this was okay.
3. American Gangster - Didn't like this one that much. I don't mind Denzel as a bad guy but I thought this may have been too over the top and non-realistic.

2008
1. The Dark Knight - I have yet to meet the person who hates this film. This is probably one of those films everyone likes. Oh, I know a girl who didn't pay attention when we went to see it. She's history now!
2. No Country for Old Men - I actually liked this. Yeah, the ending jarred me then I understood what the entire film meant. Kind of like "forget everything you just saw - that wasn't important."
3. Hellboy 2: The Golden Army - I haven't seen this one or the first one. Since you list them I'll give them both a shot.

2009
1. District 9 - Better than I thought it would've been. Not bad for an alien horror film. It wasn't insulting, either.
2. Harry Brown - Never heard of this. Is this a British film?
3. Bronson - Can't say I've ever heard about this one either. I think I would've remembered the title.

2010
1. Inception - This one surprised me. I wasn't expecting some of those fantastic scenes in there. The acting was spot on, too. I think Joseph Gordon-Levitt is gonna be a big star, Looper notwithstanding.
2. Shutter Island - This was okay. After you see it you can't help but surmise that you've seen this concept before somewhere.
3. Kick-Ass - Controversial here in the US for showing kids engaged in ultraviolence and foul talk. I thought it was a good movie, though. Reminds me of Tokyo Gore Police and other Japan girl horror films.

2011
1. Drive - I used to have this but didn't look at it. I'll have to d/l it again.
2. The Fighter - Didn't see it. For a moment I thought you'd meant The Wrestler. I saw that but not this. I'll check it out one day.
3. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - Like a lot of movies, the first is the best, and the one in the original language is the best. Made a star of Naomi Rapace.

2012
1. Looper - I've bashed this movie so much I think it's near legendary now. Man, not one scene is believable in this. It's like watching an anime movie come to life.
2. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - Haven't seen this. Maybe this week once my legs heal and I can walk the two miles to the theatre.
3. Skyfall - I haven't seen this either. I'm also surprised The Avengers didn't make your list. I know a lot of people liked it.

Avengers Assemble is in my top 5 of 2012, not to worry :) I might go the whole hog for a top 5 of each year of your life in the future. Looper blew me away, the setting was a real head scratcher, but it really works.

As for the rest, Harry Brown is as realistic a Brit film you can get. Michael Caine is superb, it's pretty shocking as well. This is England touches on the 80's era England and the racism subject as well, Dead Man's Shoes circles around an ex soldier who returns to get revenge on a local gang that abused his disabled brother.

I actually think that Daniel Craig is a decent James Bond, he doesn't need ridiculous gadgets or an invisible car like Pierce Brosnan before the latter bowed out with a whimper. GoldenEye was Brosnan's best before he went alarmingly downhill.

The directors cut of Alien has some deleted scenes, including Ripley discovering Dallas and Brett in cocoons, still scared the crap out of me that night in October 2003.

Thanks for your opinons, always good to hear :)

Uh yeah obviously since a 50 year old was the first one to reply in this thread. Along with somebody else who doesn't have their age visible that didn't list any recent movies or really old ones either.
