Hey, I'm new here. I'm 24 and was diagnosed with Asperger's a few months ago, after years of different treatments and mental health issues. My parents took me to a lot of different shrinks, and they'd always struggle to come up with a diagnosis.
My childhood and teenage years pretty much sucked. But after being diagnosed, a lot of my other problems became clearer. It was like everything fit and finally made sense. Anyone else have that when you got diagnosed? My mom was actually pretty happy, she thought it fit and she was relieved to finally have an answer. I guess I kind of feel that way too.
Anyway, I've always had depression problems too. I was prescribed Namenda and an antidepressant not too long ago. The shrink says the Namenda should make social interactions easier for me. I hope so. I'd like some relief.
Anyway, nice to meet ya!
