Asperger's syndrome and schizotypal personality disorder have some features in common: eccentricity and social awkwardness. Schizotypal personality disorder is thought to be genetically related to schizophrenia and may just be a milder form of that disorder.

For each criterion of schizotypal disorder, decide how well it applies to you personally. If it doesn't apply at all, score it as 0; if it is somewhat applicable, score it as 1; and, if it describes you quite well, score it as a 2. The minimum possible score is 0; the maximum possible score is 18. For an ICD-10 diagnosis of F21 schizotypal disorder, four criteria must be met. I measured myself as having a score of 12.

ICD-10 wrote:
(a)inappropriate or constricted affect (the individual appears cold and aloof);
(b)behaviour or appearance that is odd, eccentric, or peculiar;
(c)poor rapport with others and a tendency to social withdrawal;
(d)odd beliefs or magical thinking, influencing behaviour and inconsistent with subcultural norms;
(e)suspiciousness or paranoid ideas;
(f)obsessive ruminations without inner resistance, often with dysmorphophobic, sexual or aggressive contents;
(g)unusual perceptual experiences including somatosensory (bodily) or other illusions, depersonalization or derealization;
(h)vague, circumstantial, metaphorical, overelaborate, or stereotyped thinking, manifested by odd speech or in other ways, without gross incoherence;
(i)occasional transient quasi-psychotic episodes with intense illusions, auditory or other hallucinations, and delusion-like ideas, usually occurring without external provocation.

For me: a(2) + b(2) + c(2) + e(1) + f(2) + g(1) + h(2) = 12

I have sometimes wondered if I have schizophrenia instead of (or in addition to) Asperger's syndrome. Having a high number of schizotypal personality traits does indicate a risk of schizophrenia.

a - 2; b - 2; c - 2; d - 1; e - 0; f - 0; g - 0; h - 1; i - 0 = 8

I was going to make an inane joke about being in 'two minds' about this questionnaire; unfortunately even a cursory appreciation of the complexities of Schizophrenia renders such lame humour utterly superfluous. Shame about that.

I think i'd be about a 15.

(a)2
(b)2
(c)2
(d)2
(e)1
(f)1
(g)1
(h)2
(i)2

It's the next closest dx for me but I particpated in some StPd groups and saw a shrink about it, but they don't think I have it. I tend to agree.

I'm not schizotypal: I asked the purple monkey if the voices were real and he said they were! :lol:
