I have been looking into going to Job Corps. It really looks like a good program to learn life skills and a trade. Has anyone been in the program? What is it like? Pros/cons of the program?

It might not be bad. I think it depends upon the location of specific Job Corps site. And if the skills you seek are contained within that particular site. Some sites don't have the specific skill you seek.

Please note: people who commit crimes when they are young are sometimes "sentenced" to Job Corps. Keep that in mind. You might run into troubled kids who don't have the best of intentions (yet, we should still give them a chance; they might change as a result of the Job Corps program).

I believe wariness, especially if you're an Aspie, is essential here.

There's a blog, done by a guy named Nathanielle (yes, he's a guy, despite the name), which details his 1 1/2 years in Job Corps.

You should consult that blog.
