I've complained about how bad I am at math on here before, but now I have good news to share!

I just started back at college two weeks ago, and I just had my first math exam last Thursday! I got a B-!! !! I've never gotten a B on a math test ever in my entire freaking life! (I'm more of a D- or F kind of girl). I'm so happy! And the class was College Algebra (Okay, it is the same one I failed last year, but still). It's pretty cool.

I confess, the actual taking the test part was miserable. I spent almost two hours on it (I'm really glad that the class is self-paced and that I don't have another one immediately after it...). I kept getting distracted by everything and thinking that I was going to fail. By the time I left the testing room I was sure I'd gotten every question wrong and I spent the rest of the day obsessing about it. The first thing I did Friday morning was go check my score.

Ah friggin' B! :P

The extra tutoring and studying and meetings with the professor worked! Now I just hope I can keep it up! One test done, five more to go! :study:

I've never been this excited or happy about math in my entire life. :D

Listen to Dantac.

I avoided math and now that I'm changing majors (to science/engineering) I'm paying the price!

.... stupid calculus prerequisites! :x

I'm sure you would do better now. Taking 10 credit hours and getting C's at the beginning of college is worse than getting 2 A's later on in college. Taking 3 credit hours and getting a C is less worse than taking a 5 credit hour class and getting a C.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll do better now. The bad thing is, I might be forced into a 6 hour load next term because I won't have the math base for the tech classes in my new major. That's pretty frustrating.

Congratulations!

Keep with it. May it stay with you, but even it doesn't, you know you did a very hard thing, and got through it in some fashion. One of the most eye-opening things a person can learn [1].

And College Algebra isn't the easiest math class. Congrats on your well deserved grade.

I hope this inspires you to do even better at your next math class if it is required.

I just bombed a College Algebra test on Monday.
It's like sitting down to read a book and finding it's a foreign language.

Every time.
