My mom wants me to take a semester off, just work at walmart during that time

Pros:
I have some friends there on the floor of my dorm
away from home (its over an hour away)
much less stressed at college (until I started failing classes)
Have my own room (3 siblings so I have a makeshift room)

Cons:
Might have a repeat my first semester
daycare at my house and mom can be very frustrating
best friend lives in hometown

I think if I stick to a routine I will be fine but my mom does not think I am mature enough. I can be very forgetful about a lot of stuff too (ADD)
I would be fine with seeing a therapist during the semester at college. I am very smart so its not an intelligence issue.

I could never be bothered to do schoolwork. In HS it wasn't a huge issue because i knew most of what was taught anyway. In college I couldn't keep up. Last I checked my GPA was barely over 1.

You need to make sure that college will work before you go there.

If you go, make sure you don't fail. That's a huge waste of money. If you think you likely will fail again, wait.

Or, get a job at Walmart... an hour away... and get your own apartment.
