Specialisterne provides a supportive working environment for its employees, which enables them to make best use of their skills. Its charitable parent organisation, Specialist People Foundation (SPF) is regarded as one of the most significant international social firm developments to date as it works with a range of partners to establish social firms that transform attitudes and lives for people with autism.

In Scotland, Specialisterne is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CEiS, operated under licence from SPF. The company’s focus is providing employment for people, with an ASD, through the provision of software testing services to leading IT and telecommunications companies, large corporates and public sector organisations. Its overall aim is to create up to 60 new jobs, 75% of which will be for people with an ASD, between 2010 and 2014.
