Found a possibility for some income

So I found an ad on a site for local paper sort of thing that lists all the concerts and other activities going on and has a bunch of ads including job ads. It seems legit but basically its mailing brocures in pre-adressed and stamped envelopes so all I would have to do is put them in the envelopes, seal them and send it back and all this is paid for by whatever company is in charge of it......all except an initial 24.00 refundable fee so they know people who apply are serious about it before they go sending the supplies to them. And I guess the pay is 4.00 per brochure which isn't amazing but its something for ridiculously easy work so I'm fine with it.

I kind of want to give it a try since I could do it whenever I want pretty much and I would imagine its not a scam if it was listed as a job ad in a local paper, but I am not too sure about giving my credit card info over the internet to pay that even though it has security software or whatever to make it a secure transfer. I really cant afford to spend money for the fee if I am not 100% positive its for real so I'm not sure if I should or not.

Sounds like an envelope-stuffing scam to me. Please do not give them your credit card number without doing a lot of research on the company.

I wouldn't give too much weight to this being in the local paper, since they sell classified ads to anyone who can pay.

It sounds like a scam to me too. It might also get you put onto a bunch of junk mail lists.

I have an idea for making money but I need to wait until my mother gets her inheritance because I need money to get started. I could make t-shirts and sell them online. I'll need a printer and I saw a site where I could get a t-shirt press for around $100 and they sell the iron-on paper too. Then I'd need to find a good place to buy blank t-shirts.

I don't know if I'll ever make money from it but I'd like to make my own for myself too even if I never made money from it.

When I was a kid the mall even had a whole store that was nothing but blank shirts, iron-ons, and a guy running a t-shirt press like the one I want to buy. They made them when people bought them.

Not to be a killjoy, but this seems like a difficult business to get into, because there are many established players already online. Without even trying, I found:

I wouldn't make customs shirts. I'd just make t-shirts with designs and sell those, more like http://www.tshirthell.com/hell.shtml.

I had that idea because I really want to make shirts for myself so I need the stuff anyways. I'd never have to hope to find a t-shirt in the store that I like again. I could have whatever I want on my t-shirts. Maybe I could make some money too, maybe not. It would be something I could do from home and not have to see people except for the occasional trip to the post office to mail shirts out.

I tried to think of other things to make at home to sell and couldn't think of anything I could do, plus like I said this is something I would want to make for myself.

Alright well I will look into it more first...I kinda figured it wasn't worth it.
