I met with a new client today to discuss a project.

I am near sighted, so most of the time, I had my glasses off so everyone's faces were out of focus. I found that more comfortable.

I purposely take my time when answering questions, I don't blurt it right out. Even if I know what they're going to ask, I act like 'Hmmm, good question, well if the main server went down ...' I also have to remember to keep my hands comfortable, I tend to clasp them tightly, indicating stress.

And insecurity. Which is why I force myself to put them flat on my knees in a casual way.

I think it may have been that book by Dale Carnegie where I learned about that message.

My glasses tend to slide down my nose, so a lot of times, I direct my vision over the lens so that people's faces are blurred.

I hate job interviews :x Either they are desperate for employees, so they hire me, or they don't like something about my personality/how I come off, so they don't. Most people seem to get jobs easy are good looking, but more importantly have really good social skills, and are a-type personality (extroverted). Employers seem to really like that.

I'm trying to land a new job, and I'm practicing the answers to their idiot questions ....

Thing is I'd have to wear glasses for things to be blurry.

One trick I learned from doing theatre is to look at a person's nose. To anybody else it will look like you're looking them in the eye. :)
