Hi all, my son who is 8 is currently in dual walking boots. He recently had tendon lengthening surgery and as of yesterday had the walking casts removed. He did amazing during that process. He is excited on the surface re: the walking boots but is beyond terrified to try to stand let alone the harder part of walking. This is a little unexpected because truth be told we figured for him it'd be easy to go from walking casts to walking boots. I know it's only been one day since this change and I'm certain in time he'll get the courage to walk in them. However, until then I would love to know some tips any of you have to help alleviate his fears. He knows he can, and has a few times, used me and my husband for physical support but ultimately until he's ready I know it won't happen.

Thanks for any of your advice.
