Any autistic/asperger poker players here?

First, by "Poker", I refer to real money poker varieties such as Texas Holdem, Omaha, but not Blackjack or other casino games where the house has an edge over the players in general.

I am mainly a online poker player, plays as "pkratitsbest" (which means Poker At Its Best, lol) on Pokerstars, nanlangstyle on 888poker, and some other sites. My screen name is also pkratitsbest on the two major poker forums - Pocketfives and twoplustwo. I mainly play mid stake multi-table tournaments and some Heads Up Sig N Gos. I Would like to meet some autistic/asperger poker players here.

I've won maybe two measly games of I-forgot in my life, but convincing bluffs are a specialty of mine. How else do spectrum individuals survive public school?

I do like to play Poker and I often win too. Especially when everyone else is too drunk to play rationally >_>

I play on-line Poker infrequently. Texas Hold'em on PokerStars only.

Tight Aggressive is a very useful strategy (duh), but it is also boring as hell... Problem is, once you mix up your game on-line, you very often lose, especially against more experienced players. I would probably win more if I took the game more seriously and/or by choosing an easier battleground (PokerStars has a reputation for having better players than the average poker site).

Anyway, on-line poker is mostly a game about statistics to me. The lack of face-to-face interaction makes bluffing more difficult.

I'm an Aspie and a professional poker player.

Many people think that Aspies are not good at poker. They think that "aspies can't understand what the opponent thinks
about their hand", they say that poker needs "high social skills" etc.

They are wrong. They have no idea what they are saying.

I'm not sure but I think that the best Poker Player in the world, Phil Ivey is an Aspie also. He never told about that,
I don't know if he knows that, but he is looking like an Aspie. I'm sure that there are also many other elite poker players with Asperger syndrome.

If there is someone here who is a winning player or professional player, please write your experience.

i play hold'em, my aspergers bodylanguage helps to improve my pokerface, and my training in reading NTs helps to pierce that of my opponents; i typically walk away with a profit (though i rarely win, the 1-on-1 'heads-up' still is too hard for me, oh well, 2nd place also wins)

I've played hold-em with my friends, and I've played five-card on Clubhouse Games for the DS...I kind of prefer that, but nobody else does. I'm not very good at it, and my friends always have to remind me which hands beat which, but every once in a while I'll end up with a really lucky hand. Most hands, it seems like "Well, I've got a pair, that's better than nothing. I guess I'll stick around and see what happens."

I do like to bluff a lot.

I am obsessed with poker, especially holdem and PLO.

Mind you, I am by no means an addict as I tend to be pretty risk adverse and don't participate in any other type of "gambling". Poker is altogether different that typical "gambling" as you are playing against other players using math (Game theory), pattern recognition and people reading skills, all of which, come pretty naturally for me.

LOL! There two things that I am interested in (to the exclusion of most other things) and that is computer programming/software development and Poker!

i love playing hold'em. i have my own set of poker chips at home but sadly hardly have anyone to play with. i often lose at poker, but i still enjoy the competition. i should look into online poker. i've never tried it online.

I used to play Texas Hold'em a lot. Not being able to read emotion doesn't really matter. If you are good at noticing patterns (e.g. when your opponent is bluffing) you have the upper hand. I found that trying to read emotion made me start losing like crazy, but then I started noticing patterns, then I started winning.
