A duel between game characters

I saw a fancomic at a convention i went to once, that was basically Link (Zelda) and Cloud (Final Fantasy) having a fight. Did not pick a winner though, it left that hanging.

who do you think would win?

well i pick Link because i only know Link :p

Depends on what equipment either of them had. Cloud is probably more experienced, but Link often has the Triforce of Courage. If it was just a straight sword-fight, I'd say Link would lose, but it would be a tough battle.

I'm not sure. Cloud has a bigger sword so he would win a swordfight easily with Link, but I'm not sure about who would win if they were allowed to use items and magic.

I was shocked when I saw I knew both the characters for once. XD

I voted for Cloud, purely on account of one kickarse sword. I wouldn't want to go up against that.

However, like TheAPERSON says, if different weapons were allowed I wouldn't be so sure.

When I convince my boyfriend to cosplay Link I'll set him up against my friend with a Cloud costume and report back ( ).

Thanks to the FFVII battle system, Cloud has to wait his turn for attacking, while Link can attack without that restriction . . . Nah, Link would win because the Triforce is with him.

Link would totally win. Aside from being a Melee style fighter instead of a turn-based one, Link isn't nearly as much of a whiny b***h as Cloud. Link would be hacking away at his ass and Cloud would just be like "...I'm not strong enough".

Sure Cloud could launch that Omnislash attack, but fortunately Link would have a bunch of fairies in bottles stashed in his inventory and by the time he's revived Cloud will be out of MP.

I suppose it would be more even, because Link wouldn't have to wait his turn and can do multiple slashes while Cloud could do lots of damage in just one turn. As I said, it all depends on the weapons.

If it was just a straight up duel, Cloud would win. He's got a lot more skill than Link. I mean, link can do Spin and Jump attacks, but Cloud has so many good moves I cant count them. Just look at some of his fights in Advent Children. I'm not sure Link could survive Omnislash...

If it were a question of battle systems, yes Link would win because of his real-time battle system.

IF it were up to items/magic, it would be a tie. Link has lots of items to aid him, but not that much magic. Cloud has all the Materia to choose from, but other than that, he's limited to Potions and Ethers.

And finally, if it were a question of girlfriends, Link would win hands down. I mean, how many times has Princess Zelda's life hung in the balance only to be saved by Link? NTM Cloud has been clincially depressed ever since HIS girl got shanked by Sephiroth

I vote on Cloud. He practically destroyed a whole city with his sword in Advent Children. I've yet to see Link do anything as equally impressive.

Reflect magic with just his sword.

Master a magical musical instrument.

Suffer traumatic transformations (Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess)

Summon cyclones and storms

Killed enemies as big as Bahamut SIN, if not bigger.

Travelled through time multiple times (Oracle of Ages, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask)

You also seem to be confusing Cloud with Sephiroth. Sephiroth was the one who did the most damage to Midgar with his sword in Advent Children.

Link is AWESOME!

Link would win, only because I don't like final fantasy and LOVE ocarina of time. And brawl.

Someone said that Cloud would win because of his larger sword.
I disagree.
Link has beaten foes with larger swords in the past.

I don't know who would win, but the size-argument is faulty, I think.
