Oh man, I totally forgot about Nationstates. I used to play it many years ago. Didn't know there was a second one though, I'll check it out.

I googled it, and I have now created the United Socialist States of Eskilstuna. Let's see how it goes.

I have not played NS2.

I frequented NS1 for a while, but was inactive at one point and returned to find they had purged inactive nations, but that this was not compatible with their forum service (jolt), so that you could not log into your old nations, nor rejoin them, nor use the same email account previously used. Things went beyond frustrating when Jolt also would not let me joint with a new email accounts. In fact after weeks of trying (including seeking assistance from the admins who could do no more than advise I try to create yet more nations with yet more new email accounts, I found I ran out of free email services to try to join with. So I just gave up trying in the end, and the only thing achieved was an even greater hatred of Jolt than the constant interrupted service (provided by Jolt) had previously inspired (which interrupted service had actually caused me to stop frequenting NS in the first place).

Does NS2 have any connection whatsoever to Jolt, because I do not think I wish to go anywhere near anything connected to Jolt?

Yes it is powered by Jolt. I would still try it though if you liked ns1.
