I am just asking the question because this is an English speaking forum and the USA is such a dominant part of the English speaking world. particulary access to forms of communication technology such as the internet even though India, Canada, Australia, NZ and the UK, Ireland etc would be well represented

Nope. Swedish. Wouldn't say no to a dual citizenship though.

Yes, I was born and raised in the United States, although many times I wish I could have been born British.

I think more people speak English in India (heck, even China, though by study) than in the US.

An awful lot of people in the USA speak what they think is English.

Born and raised USA, though someday I might try to leverage my Jewish blood to get a dual US/Israeli citizenship going on, my field has a sort of synchronicity with Israeli industry.

Canadian.

The poll already seems heavily skewed away from the posited idea. Maybe its early and will straighten out, but I suspect that you'll find less American influence here than you think. The nature of the forum, the nature of forums in general, and the whole of the internet tend to be a demesne outside of the interests of a significant portion of the American population.

Basic english, yes. Only approximately 5-10% of India's population is fluent in English. Upto 40% understand basic English.
