Too much of this thread reads like it was posted by a Taliban fan club.

Being pregnant is hard for many. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be for a teenager. Teenagers often make poor choices because their prefrontal cortex is still developing. They don’t need to hear judgment. They get enough of that already from ignorant people.

This thread is making me feel less negative about American democracy/government/politics as they currently are. Thanks OP!

Conservatism and Fascism are not the same thing. I'm in favor of abolishing Fascism which is what has hijacked the Republican party.

True American Conservatives have my sympathy because they are no longer welcomed by either side of the kakistocracy.

Why not abolish both major parties and allow for more competition? As usual, it goes against the interests of the rich people. They've spread their agenda to millions and solidified it to the point where democracy in America is pretty much vote Democrat or Republican and nothing else. Polarization sweeps like it's the 1990s again lol.

NP, I'm sure you will live a life under the liberal government until you succumb to the liberal agenda of polarization. The whole Dem V Rep thing is polarizing America to this day.

Conservative - a person who wants to preserve their tradition

Reactionary - a person who is more extreme than the conservative and prefers reversing certain standards mainly due to positive interpretation of the "good old times".

Fascist - a person who wants an authoritarian nationalist government with state capitalist tendencies as well as wanting to advance the interests of the nation rather than the people.

I have just recently dug in about California and found out that it is notorious for high levels of homelessness due to how expensive it is. A 2023 AHAR report published in December 2023 revealed that between 50% to 66% of people in California alone have no shelter. Guess who is responsible for the state of California as of now? The Democrats!

Your fellow "progressive" heroes have yet to solve the California issue with homelessness that has been going since the 1970s. It's not really a Republican-caused problem because the Democrats had since 1992 to solve the issue but there is little to no progress done by the Democrats. It only proves my point that liberalism left or right in America is terrible and that the capitalist elite has no empathy for the massive homeless population that makes California look like North Korea with a liberal character. Imagine a state which is one of the economic powerhouses of the US but has the highest percentage of homeless people because of how ludicrously expensive it is to live in there.



Because of this, California's economy is clearly going to weaken because homeless people can't afford to work. Prices keep going up from lack of housing. There are 3 to 4 million houses uninhabited of the 14 million in California and clearly the only thing to do is double the housing production and reduce prices for residents cause it is just sad to look at so many homeless people on the streets, especially San Francisco.

Are the Democrats and Republicans doing anything for these people? Not at all!

While 181,399 is a lot of people (68% of whom were unsheltered), there are over 39 million people living in California, so the percentage of homeless there would be a little under 0.5%.

Obviously, homelessness is still something that we need to work on even though it’s not nearly as extreme as you were suggesting. While we have problems that require much more attention than we are currently providing, I’d still rather live here than under the type of controlling government you’ve been promoting.

Ah. I see. It says 68% and it's the highest rate but how come only under 200,000 people be homeless? Clearly a different unit has been used to describe this issue or they just took a smaller sample.

Still, housing production needs to be doubled or tripled if California is going to provide more shelter for more people cause who would bother going there to live under an expensive housing price? California pretty much has a funny one with the rich people. A dwelling in California that is like worth over a million sure sound expensive and good but that same dwelling you find in other states is half the price of what California offers.

It’s saying that 68% of homeless people were without shelter. 32% would be staying in homeless shelters.

A lot of the homeless are the visible homeless too that many people have lost patience with. Many homeless people often know friends or family somewhere that will help them but not the visible homeless. Being on the streets is a sign that help has been taken off the table for one reason or another.

Substance abuse and crime is common for the visible homeless and simply giving them a home does little. They lost their home in the first place.
