Partial solution to the un-employment problem: Put people to work fixing the potholes (and other disrepairs of the public infrastructure). Nothing lasts forever. It wears out and has to be fixed or replaced.

Investing in the public infrastructure is a better investment than ill thought out welfare schemes of income redistribution. The best way to handle the non-well-off is to get them busy doing something useful. If we are going to have a dole or hand-outs put the bums to work filling the pot holes.

People in the road workers unions are going to object to hiring random folk off the streets to compete with them to fill those potholes. They make a lot of money standing around leaning on their shovels, you know, and don't want to lose that cushy public works job.

The biggest source of new jobs is small companies. To create more jobs, you have to create a business climate that's friendly to the formation of small companies. And one facet of that is that you don't bail out big companies. That just steals financing that would have been available for small companies that now will never form.

In the U.S. half of the non-farm GDP is produced by firms with have 100 or fewer employees. The small business is what energizes the U.S. economy, not the giant mega corporations. The mega corporations are gigantic monuments to death, like the Pyramids in Egypt.
