Close your eyes and see gold

KJV - NT - The street of the city (of Heaven) was pure gold.

Book of Revelation (last book in Bible)

Chapter 21: 21,22 (Description of Heaven in the sky)

21: And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22: And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

Close your eyes and see green.

Religion is nothing but the pursuit of profits anyway. Preachers and church leaders become wealthy via tithings. The parishoners get some sort of spiritual fulfillment, then asking for God to provide them with things in their daily lives.

Wealthy people worship money as their god, not any Judeo-Christian-Islamic teaching.

Agree with you today.

So many church services are really disguised collection plate passings where the salesmen/saleswomen (religious theater actors) imply that giving money to their ministry will trigger an invisible God in the sky to listen to the pewrenter's prayer request and immediately fulfill it.

I have an aunt who legitimately believes that God gave her a car because she had prayed for one. In reality, she found one online somewhere, liked it, went there and got a good price for it. I fail to see the whole divine intervention part, when you're already making effort for yourself anyway.

I been to several different churches, and there was constant talk about how God would bless you and provide for you. I also heard a lot of talk about giving to the church's finances and keep it all afloat.

Many of the megachurches would be abominations in the eyes of Jesus himself. Particularly those temples with multi million dollar lavishness, pastors with mansions/jets/luxury cars, etc...

that's a beautiful quote. i can appreciate the sentiments from people who are devoutly religious.
