I haven't read the whole thread, but I haven't seen The Man From Earth suggested.

It's a film.

Very good movie, actually.

Books:
Darwinism and the Myth of Creationism. I picked it up as a curiosity item at a college that was discarding old books.
The Myth of God Incarnate (Hick)
The God Delusion (Dawkins)

Movie:
The God Who Wasn't There

I've got that film on DVD; yes it was very good. Not a lot of action, but it wasn't that type of film; surprisingly watchable.

Maybe already mentioned? "The life of Brian" by Monty Python. Loved that film. "He's not the son of god - he's a very naughty boy!"

You know, when The Life Of Brian first played in theaters, it was banned in many places in the south.

Submission by Theo van Gogh.

Theo was murdered because of this film and Ayaan Hirsi Ali has spent all of her life since in safe houses with a close protection detail.

Anyone mentioned Fitna yet? Can't post it here (and was warned once when I did) but it's easy to find.

Only the true messiah would deny his divinity!

Whatever incited this would be worth watching.

I don't know why they don't even state the name of the movie in a lot of articles. It is Innocence of Moslems.

It looks like a dumb movie, but, of course, now I feel obliged to watch it.

Virtually all scientific literature would be considered blasphemous by the feeble-minded.

That piece of crap is what's getting Muslim extremists bent out of shape? I don't know what passes as cinema in Egypt and Libya, but it's hard to grasp how someone could take that God awful production seriously.

For light-hearted, extremely funny Irish blasphemy, try the sitcom "Father Ted".
Available on Netflix.
You're welcome in advance.

Harlan Ellison's Deathbird Stories is a good one.

There was also a comic-book series called Wormwood, in which the titular protagonist finds that he is the son of Satan, and is expected to bring on the Apocalypse. Only he doesn't particularly want to. He sets off with his buddy, Jesus (who has been incarnated as a perpetually-stoned Rastafarian), to try to persuade both of their fathers to back off the whole destruction-of-the-world thing.

The issue I read (never was able to track down the whole thing) featured the idea that the line between Heaven and Hell can be kind of blurry - they ran across one of the 9/11 bombers, who was indeed rewarded with a place in Paradise with 72 virgins. All of whom were infants. He hadn't been able to stop changing diapers and making bottles since he got there...

Thanks for the recommendation. I just watched it recently.
