Jesus Christ credits his close relative, John the Baptist, with having invented the kingdom of heaven: And he [Jesus Christ] said unto them...The law and the prophets [were] until John [the Baptist]: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it (Lk 16 - KJV). What did John the Baptist mean by the kingdom of heaven? Would John the Baptist's kingdom (aka a political system overseen by a male king) be closer to a new and revised King David kingdom but with John the Baptist as king aka King John the Baptiser - successor to King David?
